Abstract: The inventive approach positionally determines a periodically moving structure of a patient's anatomy by acquiring one or more images of a periodically moving anatomical structure of interest. The exposure time of each image covers at least one whole motion cycle of the structure, such that each acquired image depicts at least one whole motion cycle.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for determining a target position of an X-ray device encompasses acquiring image data describing an anatomical structure of a patient, for example, by means of a 3D scan, and registering the image data relative to a coordinate system of the patient, for example by means of a navigation system. Furthermore, a trajectory of an implant positioned within the anatomical structure relative to the patient coordinate system is acquired. A target position of an X-ray device for acquiring an X-ray image of at least part of the implant is determined based on the registered image and the acquired trajectory of the implant.

Abstract: The present application provides an initial, or first, packed arc setup to be compared with predefined arc setup constraints. These predefined arc setup constraints at least constrain the number of patient table angles per target volume, constrain the number of times the gantry moves along one arc per table angle, constraint the sum of gantry span per metastasis over all arcs, and constrain the minimum table span. Based on the result of the comparison between the first packed arc setup with the predefined arc setup constraints, a second arc setup is automatically suggested. The automatically suggested second arc setup may then be compared with the first one by calculating a score for both setups. Several iterations of such a method can be carried out based on the comparison between an arc setup and the following, subsequent arc setup in the iteration.

Abstract: The disclosed method encompasses pre-registering an anatomical body part with a coordinate system used by an augmented reality device (such as augmented reality glasses) for outputting (e.g. displaying or projecting) augmentation information. An example of the augmentation information is the position (in the real image captured by the augmented reality device) of a fine registration area on the anatomical body part which a user is supposed to identify for fine registration of the anatomical body part with a tracking coordinate system used by a medical position tracking system. The disclosed method is usable in a medical environment such as for surgery or radiotherapy.

Abstract: A hybrid phantom having marker patches that are visible both in a thermal image captured by a thermal camera and a 3D point cloud generated by a 3D camera. A thermal insulation between the marker, patches and a carrier part of the phantom maintains a temperature difference between the marker patches and the carrier part such that the marker patches are visible in the thermal image. Different optical properties of the marker patches and the carrier part make them distinguishable in the 3D point cloud.

Abstract: This document relates to determining the configuration of a medical imaging system, in particular a configuration which defines a desired viewing direction of the medical imaging system onto a patient. First, a fluoroscopic image of at least a part of a patient is captured using the medical imaging system and the target central beam is set in the fluoroscopic image. Then a target line in space is determined which, when projected into the fluoroscopic image, coincides with the set target central beam. Then the configuration of the medical imaging system is determined such that the central beam of the medical imaging system coincides with the target line in space.
