Abstract: A method for manufacturing a touch input device may be provided. The method includes: a display forming step of forming, on a single carrier substrate, a flexible display for each of a plurality of display devices, cutting the flexible display into individual pieces, and separating the flexible display from the carrier substrate; a separate structure different from electrodes used to detect touch position forming step of forming, under a single substrate, a separate structure different from electrodes used to detect touch position for each of the plurality of display devices and cutting the substrate for the separate structure into individual pieces; and an adhering step of adhering each of the individual pieces of the separated flexible display to an individual piece of the substrate for the separate structure. The substrate for the separate structure may not be relatively easily bent as compared to the flexible display.

Abstract: A touch input device according to an embodiment is capable of detecting a pressure of a touch on a touch surface and may include: a display module; and a pressure sensor which is disposed at a position where a distance from a reference potential layer may vary according to the touch for the touch surface, the distance is changeable according to a pressure magnitude of the touch, the pressure sensor may output a signal including information on a capacitance which is changed according to the distance, the pressure sensor may include a plurality of electrodes to form a plurality of channel, and detect the magnitude of the pressure for the touch based on a change amount of a capacitance detected in the each channel and an SNR improvement scaling factor assigned to each of the channels.

Abstract: A touch device includes: a touch panel including a plurality of touch electrodes; a driver/receiver for applying a first driving signal to the touch panel while driven in a first mode, and applying a second driving signal that is different from the first driving signal to the touch panel while driven in a second mode; and a controller for comparing first detection signals received from the touch panel with a first threshold value to obtain first touch data while driven in the first mode, and comparing second detection signals received from the touch panel with a second threshold value to obtain second touch data while driven in the second mode, wherein the controller determines the second threshold value based on at least part of the first detection signals.

Abstract: A smartphone may include a first cover layer and an LCD panel located under the first cover layer. The smartphone may include a backlight unit which may be located under the LCD panel. The smartphone may include a touch sensor which may sense touch in a capacitive manner. The backlight unit may include a pressure sensor and a spacer layer. The pressure sensor may include one or more electrodes formed in a single layer attached on the second cover layer and spaced apart from the reflective sheet. A driving signal may be applied to the touch sensor. A touch position may be detected by a sensing signal which may be output from the touch sensor. A magnitude of a touch pressure may be detected based on a change amount of capacitance which may be output from the pressure sensor.

Abstract: A device according to the embodiment of the present invention includes a display; a touch sensing unit; a pressure sensing unit capable of sensing a magnitude of a pressure at the touched position; and a control unit. The control unit performs a control operation when a pressure touch is sensed and a swipe gesture in which a touch point is moved is sensed and then the swipe gesture ends. The control operation may be one of termination of running applications, changing into a one-hand keyboard mode, deletion or transmission of an object, and movement of the object. According to the embodiment of the present invention, the operability of the device is enhanced. According to the embodiment, it is possible to easily terminate running applications by using one finger even without using a separate home button.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a control method for a touch sensor panel is disclosed. The method includes obtaining touch information on the touch sensor panel from which an electrical signal outputted is changed according to a touch, and detecting at least one valid touch from the touch information. It is determined that a valid touch of the at least one valid touch is included in a palm touch group by (a) detecting a palm touch, which meets a palm touch condition, among the at least one valid touch, and (b) determining that the detected palm touch and the valid touch occur within a predetermined time period. A display unit displays an input corresponding to each of the at least one valid touch other than the valid touch included in the palm touch group.

Abstract: A touch input device detecting a touch position and a touch pressure includes a display module having a first layer made of glass or plastic and a second layer disposed under the first layer and made of glass or plastic; touch electrodes formed within the display module for detecting the touch position and the touch pressure; and a reference electrode disposed apart from the touch electrode. The touch position is detected by a sensing signal received from the touch electrode. An electrical signal changed by a capacitance between the touch electrode and the reference electrode is detected from the touch electrode. The capacitance is changed by change of a distance between the touch electrode and the reference electrode. The distance between the touch electrode and the reference electrode is changed by the bending of the display module. The touch pressure is detected based on the capacitance.
