    Abstract: A bioptic scanner optical arrangement with a single sensor split four ways is disclosed herein. An example bioptic scanner optical arrangement includes a housing, an imaging assembly having a primary FOV, a decode module, a generally horizontal window supported by the housing, a generally upright window supported by the housing, and a mirror arrangement positioned within the interior region. The mirror arrangement is configured to divide the primary FOV into a plurality of subfields, to redirect at least one of the plurality of subfields through the generally horizontal window, and to redirect at least another two of the plurality of subfields through the generally upright window. The bioptic barcode reader has no other imaging assembly communicatively coupled to the decode module and used to process images for decoding indicia.

The field-of-view of the imaging sensor is directed through the window along a first central axis of the field-of-view of the imaging sensor and the illumination pattern from the illumination source is directed through the window along a second central axis of the illumination pattern that is substantially parallel to the first central axis of the field-of-view of the imaging sensor.

An example barcode reader includes a housing and a window positioned within the housing, an imaging sensor and second imaging sensor positioned within the housing, and a transflective mirror positioned within the housing and in a path of a field-of-view of the imaging sensor. The field-of-view of the imaging sensor passes through the transflective mirror and out the window with the transflective mirror in a transmissive state and the field-of-view of the second imaging sensor is reflected off of the transflective mirror and out the window with the transflective mirror in a reflective state.

    Abstract: A weigh platter assembly includes a weigh platter and a parallax based off-platter detection assembly having a light emission assembly, a light detection assembly, and a controller. The light emission assembly has a light source to emit a light beam along a lateral edge of the weigh platter. The light detection assembly detects at least a portion of the light beam reflected from an object extending across the light beam and includes a sensor offset from the light source and an aperture positioned in front of the sensor and configured to limit a field of view of the sensor along the lateral edge between proximal and distal edges of the weigh platter. The controller is configured to provide a first signal in response to a first value received from the sensor and to provide a second signal, different from the first signal, in response to a second value.

    Abstract: A convertible slot scanner assembly for capturing at least one object appearing in a field of view (FOV) is provided that includes an imaging assembly, a controller, an image decoder, a chassis, a first window, and a housing. The chassis is configured to accommodate the imaging assembly and includes an optical cavity, an opening, and a flange portion at least partially surrounding the opening.     Abstract: Optical assemblies and methods of forming the same with light-curable adhesive are disclosed. An example method of assembling an optical assembly includes coupling a lens assembly with a lens assembly holder to form a lens sub-assembly, and applying a light-curable adhesive to a lens chassis fixedly mounted to a printed circuit board (PCB). The method may include optically aligning the lens sub-assembly with an image sensor fixedly mounted to the PCB. When optical alignment is complete, the method may include substantially curing the adhesive with light to fixedly mount the lens sub-assembly to the lens chassis to hold the lens assembly in a fixed optical alignment with the image sensor.

    Abstract: Methods and devices for performing color imaging processing on the fly for barcode readers are disclosed herein. An example method includes color image processing in a barcode reader to identify one of raw image data or processed image data and further decoding indicia in the identified raw or processed image data. The method includes receiving a raw image data of an image of an object, performing image processing on the raw image data, analyzing the raw image data and the processed image data, and identifying which of the raw image data or processed image data to communicate to a decoder for further decoding. The decoder then identifies, in the identified raw image data or processed image data, indicia corresponding to an object, and decodes the identified indicia.

    Abstract: A barcode reader has a housing, weigh platter, and off-platter detection assembly including first and second imaging assemblies in communication with a controller. The first imaging assembly has a first imager configured to capture an image of a first lateral edge of the weigh platter. The second imaging assembly has a second imager configured to capture an image of a second lateral edge of the weigh platter.     Abstract: Example methods and apparatuses to mitigate specular reflections and direct illumination interference in bioptic barcode readers are disclosed. An example method includes creating a first sub-field of view passing through a first window, creating a second sub-field of view passing through a second window, while activating a first illumination source to illuminate the first sub-field of view and deactivating a second illumination source associated with the second sub-field of view, capturing first images of the first sub-field of view, while activating the second illumination source to illuminate the second sub-field of view and deactivating the first illumination source, capturing second images of the second sub-field of view, and attempting to decode a barcode within at least one of the first images and the second images.
