A retractable protection device for protecting a user's head against environmental elements, the device includes at least one hoop, at least two articulations of at least one hoop with a base, each articulation being attached to one end of at least one hoop, at least one articulation comprising a means for locking said hoop in a predefined position referred to as the “deployed position”. The device further includes at least partially closed base, configured to surround the user's nape at least partially, and a sheet of fabric attached to each hoop and the base to create a protection screen around the user's head in the deployed position, the fabric and hoops being circumscribed by the base in a position referred to as the “folded position” that minimizes the size of the device, between the user's nape and shoulders, freeing up the user's back.

A decorative headgear simulating the appearance of a racing helmet is disclosed. It is in the form of a sheet of thin flexible material. The sheet is shaped and configured with a back panel (BP), a right panel (RP), a left panel (LP), a top panel (TP), a front panel (FP), and a chin cover (CC), all of which are adapted for inter-connection to form the helmet.

For example, the headwear may include a headwear body including a crown, and a hat brim extending from the crown, the hat brim including one or more slits forming a hinge on an underside of the hat brim for folding the hat brim, each slit being reinforced with bias material along each edge of the slit and a center webbing over an opening formable under the slit when the brim is in a folded position, the bias material being coupled to an inner surface of each edge of the slit.

Methods of forming collapsible hats are provided. One method includes forming a front portion of the collapsible hat, and forming at least one band portion of the collapsible hat extending from the front portion. The method further includes forming a plurality of top portions of the collapsible hat extending from the at least one band portion. The plurality of top portions are formed to be coupled at a single point in a use configuration of the collapsible hat to form a top portion of the collapsible hat. The single point at which the plurality of top portions are configured to be coupled is proximate to a center of the top portion of the collapsible hat.

The bill portion includes a stiffening insert configured to fold in at least one location by way of an interior slot and adjoining terminal crease sections. Each terminal crease section is formed by the provision of oppositely disposed upper and lower indentations at each end of the interior slot. Disclosed herein are an elastic steel band, which is wound over one revolution (angle of over 360°) when a sun cap or a hat is not worn, whereby keeping and portability characteristics of the sun cap or hat are improved, and method and apparatus for manufacturing the same. According to the present invention, the method of manufacturing the elastic steel band includes a material preparation step, a press work step of forming a unit work pieces, a rolling step of rolling the unit work piece 1.5 revolution to less than 3 revolutions, and an unfolding step of bending both ends of the rolled half-finished work piece in an opposite direction to the rolling direction, thus forming unfolded units at both ends of the elastic steel band.

A foldable formative cap capable of opening automatically, which is mainly comprised of a cap body and a hair hoop. Wherein, two sides of the cap body have folding lines and can be folded, and there is a supporting seat arranged in each left and right side of the top face of the hair hoop additionally, and the upper portion of the supporting seat is connected and secured at an appropriate position of the folding lines at the two sides of thecap body by the means of a fixing structure.
