Abstract: An electronic device detects a first swipe gesture in a respective direction from a first edge of the touch-sensitive display. In response to detecting the first swipe gesture from the first edge of the touch-sensitive display: in accordance with a determination that a respective portion of the first swipe gesture occurs at a first portion of the first edge of the touch-sensitive display, the device displays a plurality of controls for adjusting settings of the touch-sensitive display; and in accordance with a determination that the respective portion of the first swipe gesture occurs at a second portion of the first edge of the touch-sensitive display, the device displays a plurality of recently received notifications.

Abstract: In accordance with some embodiments, a method is performed at a device with one or more processors, non-transitory memory, and a touch-sensitive display. The method includes displaying, on the touch-sensitive display, a text region that includes a first portion of text and a second portion of text. The method includes detecting, on the touch-sensitive display, an input within the text region. The method includes, in response to detecting the input within the text region, moving the first portion of text relative to the second portion of text to display a non-text region between the first portion of text and the second portion of text that does not include any text and converting at least a portion of the non-text region into a drawing panel provided to receive drawing input via the touch-sensitive display and display a corresponding graphic in response to receiving the drawing input.

Abstract: An application launching user interface that includes a plurality of application icons for launching corresponding applications is displayed. A first touch input is detected on a first application icon of the plurality of application icons. The first application icon is for launching a first application that is associated with one or more corresponding quick actions. If the first touch input meets one or more application-launch criteria which require that the first touch input has ended without having met a first input threshold, the first application is launched in response to the first touch input. If the first touch input meets one or more quick-action-display criteria which require that the first touch input meets the first input threshold, one or more quick action objects associated with the first application are concurrently displayed along with the first application icon without launching the first application, in response to the first touch input.

Abstract: While displaying a first user interface that corresponds to a restricted state of a computer system, the computer system, in response to detecting a first input, replaces the first user interface with a second user interface while maintaining a current authentication state of the computer system. The second user interface includes a first search input region. In response to detecting an input in the first search input region in the second user interface: if the computer system is in an unauthenticated state, the computer system displays, on the second user interface, a first set of search results; and if the computer system is in an authenticated state, the computer system displays, on the second user interface, a second set of search results including at least a representation of first content within the first application is not in the first set of search results.

Abstract: Systems and methods for proactively identifying and surfacing relevant content on an electronic device with a touch-sensitive display are disclosed herein. In one aspect, a method includes presenting content in a first application. At least a portion of the content is presented without requiring input from a user. The method further includes receiving a request to open a second application. In response to receiving the request, the second application is presented with an input-receiving field. Before receiving any user input at the input-receiving field, a selectable user interface object is displayed with an indication that the portion of the content was viewed in the first application, allowing the user to paste at least the portion of the content into the input-receiving field. In response to detecting a selection of the selectable user interface object, the portion of the content is pasted into the input-receiving field.

Abstract: An electronic device, while displaying first and second user interface representations on a display, detects an edge input by a first contact on a touch-sensitive surface that includes movement of the first contact across the touch-sensitive surface. In response to detecting termination of the edge input, in accordance with a determination that the first contact moved by more than a first threshold amount during the edge input in a direction across the touch-sensitive surface that corresponds to a first predefined direction on the display, the device displays a second user interface that corresponds to the second user interface representation; and in accordance with a determination that the first contact did not move by more than the first threshold amount during the edge input in a direction across the touch-sensitive surface that corresponds to the first predefined direction on the display, the device redisplays the first user interface.

The method also includes: in response to detecting only the search activation gesture, displaying a search interface on substantially all of the touch-sensitive display, the search interface including: (i) a search entry portion; and (ii) a predictions portion with one or more user interface objects each associated with a respective locally-installed application. Each respective locally-installed application is selected from among a plurality of locally-installed applications for inclusion in the predictions portion based on an application usage history associated with the user of the electronic device.
