    Abstract: An electric powered snow thrower having high efficiency and high performance is disclosed. The electric powered snow thrower can incorporate an impeller that achieves high throw distances even at significantly lower power than conventional devices. Additionally, aspects of the electric powered snow thrower enable adjustment between different performance and power levels to adjust snow throw distance to optimize performance with power consumption and battery longevity. In some disclosed aspects, the performance level is coupled with a chute deflector height to simplify a selection between low power consumption and short throwing distance and high power consumption and long throwing distance, and all ranges there between.

    Abstract: An automated steering device is provided usable in conjunction with power equipment machines. By way of example, the automated steering device can provide user-assisted steering for a power equipment machine to maintain tight parallel paths. The user-assisted steering can be defined relative to an initial vector traversed through user directed operation of the power equipment machine, independent of or at least in part independent of a predefined area of operation for the power equipment machine. Position location data refined by local terrestrial positioning system correction devices, or onboard rotational correction devices can be provided to obtain high positioning accuracy, and minimal path deviation. As a result, highly accurate pathing can be provided by way of the disclosed automated steering devices.

    Abstract: A chute control assembly for a snow thrower having a housing, handle, and a chute includes a control mechanism, a connecting mechanism, and a guide mechanism. The control mechanism includes an actuator mechanism that allows an operator to manually control the orientation of the chute from a position spaced apart from the chute. The connecting mechanism transfers rotation of the actuator mechanism to the guide mechanism. The guide mechanism is attached to the chute and rotates and adjust the orientation of the chute in response to rotation of the actuator mechanism in order to change the direction that snow is thrown from the snow thrower.

    Abstract: A system and method for proximity determination can include receiving an RF signal transmitted from a target location, the receiving performed by an antenna of an autonomous moving device, extracting received signal strength indicator (RSSI) values by processing the received RF signal, receiving distance measurements provided by a sensor associated with the autonomous moving device and storing the distance measurements in the memory of the autonomous device. The extracted RSSI values can be correlated the with the distance measurements to obtain a proximity value. A distance to the target location can be determined based on the proximity values.

    Abstract: A method for autonomous mower navigation includes performing a training operation for an area including identifying a GPS signal associated with a training apparatus, iteratively recording data associated geolocations of the training apparatus as the training apparatus moves along a trajectory through the area, smoothing the geolocation data associated with the trajectory, and storing the smoothed geolocation data. The method can include subsequent to the training operation, performing a greens association process including establishing a link between the autonomous mower and an RTK-GPS base, receiving by the autonomous mower correction data from the RTK-GPS base, and determining an approach angle to a work area, wherein the path the autonomous mower travels to the work zone is defined by the approach angle.
