The gateway module is configured to relay signals relating to the status of the ramp from the gateway bus to the vehicle data bus to coordinate operation of the door and the ramp.

    摘要: A dual function, inboard barrier/bridgeplate assembly for wheelchair lifts having a stowable platform, the barrier being pivotably secured to the inboard end of the lift 5 platform, which barrier is actuated by a link to variously raise the barrier to a safety position and lower it to a bridging position in accordance with the position of the platform. The dual function barrier/bridgeplate system is particularly useful in combination with a parallelogram type lift employing an articulated lever assembly having a sliding block for leveraging the platform from a horizontal transfer orientation to a vertical, or over-vertical stowage position. There is disclosed a barrier assembly in which a spring assist system comprising a gas spring acting on one member of the articulated lever assembly and a lever arm linking a second arm of the articulated lever assembly to the barrier co-operate to actuate the barrier from a raised position when the platform is away from the transfer level and a lowered position to act as a bridge plate at the transfer level. A telescoping push arm is included which actuates the barrier by means of a pivoted link which rotates the barrier in response to the telescoping motion of the push arm. A safety interlock and load detecting system may be employed to prevent the platform from moving to the stowed position when a load greater than a predetermined weight is on the platform. An anti-free fall mechanism is disclosed comprising a pin in the slide block which engages mating slots in the telescoping push arm members to lock their length during the initial stage of deploy of the platform downwardly from the vertical stowed position.

    摘要: A linear drive system for reversibly operating a wheelchair ramp or other mobility access device is provided. The drive system for the mobility access device includes an actuator and a drive apparatus coupled thereto for moving the access device or portion thereof. The actuator, which may be a hydraulic cylinder, electric actuator or the like, has a linearly moving arm that cooperates with the drive apparatus including a gear rack and a spur gear. The gear rack is coupled to the moving arm and mates with the spur gear that rotates on a shaft in response to the linear movement of the moving arm. A drive link is coupled with the spur gear for pivoting about the shaft to deploy and stow the access device.

    摘要: A wheelchair lift system having a stacking platform for use in conjunction with a vehicle. The wheelchair lift platform includes a first portion with an elongated support having fixed and moveable platform sections and a linear actuator powerable for moving between outboard and inboard positions. When stored in an upright, vertical orientation, one section of the platform is stored in a stacking or overlapping fashion behind the other section and stored upright inside the vehicle. Upon deploying the platform to its horizontal orientation, the two sections of the platform form one continuously coplanar lifting platform with the moveable platform section moving relative to the fixed platform section. A linkage system couples the moveable platform section for linear movement with the linear actuator for an orientation with the moveable platform section stowed as being stacked or overlapping with the fixed platform section. The actuator may further employ a pulley with a connector coupled to turn the pulley and a drive to move the platform.

There is a fixed platform section attached intermediate to the first portions of the right-side and left-side elongated supports and an actuator that is powerable for moving the right-side and left-side vertical arms between positions that are both outboard and inboard the vehicle. Advantageously, the system includes a moveable platform section that is coupled intermediate to the right-side and left-side elongated supports for movement between the first and second portions of the right-side and left-side elongated supports. A linkage connects to the moveable platform section for movement with the actuator between a stowed orientation with the moveable platform section stowed as being stacked with the fixed platform section at the first portions of the right-side and left-side elongated supports and a deployed orientation when the moveable platform section is moved to the second portions of the right-side and left-side elongated supports.

The transfer member is movable with respect to the frame between a stowed position and a deployed position with respect to the vehicle. A first drive assembly is positioned along a first side of the frame and a second drive assembly is positioned along a second side of the frame. A linking member extends between and connects the first drive assembly with the second drive assembly. There is further provided a control assembly that is engageable to at least one of the linking member, the first drive assembly, and the second drive assembly to allow operator selection of a manual or automatic mode for deploying and stowing the transfer member.

    摘要: A wheelchair platform free fall control system comprising use of a tension means, such as at least one spring, biasing together the long and short arms of a lever arm assembly that keeps the lever arm slide block in contact with a lifting arm during gravity-down deployment of said platform from an over-vertical stowed position to a horizontal transfer position. A compression means may be used in conjunction with the lifting arm assembly to assist in overcoming the resting momentum of the lift platform mass from over-vertical outwardly until gravity takes over. The tension means may be one or more springs and the compression means may be a gas spring. The forces are preselected to provide lifting assembly over-vertical assist while keeping the sliding block in substantial contact with an arm of the lifting assembly. The springs can be used with a stud/slot interlock. Torsion springs are preferably eliminated.
