摘要： An in-line mixing apparatus is especially useful for iodine extraction from brine. Three fluids (brine, an oxidant such as sodium hypochlorite, and an acid such as HCl) are mixed in the apparatus. The apparatus includes an inner tube and an outer tube. Openings are present in the sidewall of the inner tube to connect the interior volume of the inner tube with the annular volume between the inner tube and the outer tube. Fluid is passed into the inner tube and flows through the openings into the annular volume, causing immediate and vigorous mixing and chemical reaction to obtain elemental iodine.

摘要： Disclosed are processes whereby stains on a variety of substrates may be removed by treating a stained area of a substrate with a solution of a sulfonamide compound. The sulfonamide-containing solutions are particularly useful as stain removal agents for stains which originate with body fluids such as blood, urine, vomit, feces etc. The stain removal solutions may be buffered to a predetermined pH. The stain removal solutions may further incorporate small percentages of low molecular weight alcohols and wetting agents.

摘要： This invention is concerned with odor control animal shampoo. Odor control animal shampoos in accordance with this invention comprises a shampoo base to which is added a halo sulfonamide compound. In use the halo sulfonamide compound, as is contained in the shampoo, reacts with odorous nitrogen and sulfur bearing compounds which are contained on the body of a pet. The halo sulfonamide compound reacts with the nitrogen and sulfur compounds to reduce these compounds to a non odorous format. The animal shampoo of this invention are particularly effective in controlling odors which originate on dogs and cats. The halo sulfonamide compound can be present in the shampoo formulation at any effective concentrations. Shampoo formulations which incorporate from about 0.1 to about 5.0 weight percent of a halo sulfonamide compound have been found to be effective. Chloramine-T is a preferred sulfonamide compound for use as an odor control agent in the shampoo formulations of this invention.

摘要： Animals have been domesticated and kept as a source of milk for tens of thousands of years, When humans keep animals for their ability to produce milk, the animals are usually kept in confined spaces. As a result of this confinement the animals are exposed to high levels of urine and fecal matter which originated with the animals which are being kept. This exposure contaminates the animal and in particular the udder and teats of the animal, with bacteria. In the milking process this bacteria can further contaminate the milk which is destine for human consumption. The bacteria can further cause mastitis in the bovine. The above set forth problems are eliminated in the subject invention wherein the udder and teat areas of the bovine are sanitized with a solution of trichloromelamine.

摘要： Aromatic N-halosulfonamide organic compounds have been known for over one hundred years. The most widely used halogen sulfonamide organic compound for these applications is Chloramine-T. This invention deals with the new use of discovered compositions of matter, halo active aromatic sulfonamide organic compounds and use of solutions of these compounds as, odor control agents. The odor control solutions may be buffered to a predetermined pH. The odor control compositions may further incorporate small percentages of low molecular weight alcohols and wetting agents.
