Abstract: A computer-implemented method for generating and broadcasting digital trails of visual media may include (i) receiving user input initiating a digital trail, the user input including a selection of a trail mode from a list of candidate modes, (ii) creating a digital trail container configured to contain a series of thematically related visual media works generated by users invited to contribute to the digital trail, (iii) providing, to one or more users, a creation prompt that corresponds to the trail mode, (iv) adding, to the digital trail container, at least one visual media work received in response to providing the creation prompt, and (v) displaying the resulting digital trail by sequentially presenting each visual media work added to the digital trail container in the order added. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

Abstract: An online system receives information describing one or more interactions by each of a set of online system users with an entity having a presence in the online system, in which the information includes a geographic location of each user stored in a corresponding user profile. The online system determines multiple polygons defined at different geographic granularities, in which each polygon includes a region on a geographic map. A score is computed for each polygon based on a number of the set of users who interacted with the entity and who have a geographic location within the polygon, as well as a total number of users having a geographic location within the polygon. A polygon is selected based on the scores and a geographic location for the entity is inferred for the entity as the selected polygon at the geographic granularity of the selected polygon.

Abstract: Apparatuses, methods, and systems for coordinated beamforming in a wireless mesh network, are disclosed. One system includes a network that includes a plurality of nodes connected through wireless links, and a controller. The wireless links including aggressor links and victim links wherein the aggressor links interfere with the victim links. The controller is operative to identify the aggressor links and the victim links of a group of nodes of the plurality of nodes, coordinate beam scans of aggressor transmitter nodes associated with the aggressor links, coordinate reception of one or more victim receive nodes associated with the victim links, characterize or receive characterizations of measured interference at the one or more victim receive nodes during the coordinated beam scans, and select beamforming coefficients for the aggressor transmitter nodes based at least on the characterizations of the measured interference.

Abstract: A computing device enhances digital content on a display based on a distance to an individual from the computing device. The computing device detects an individual in the environment around the computing device and determines a distance from the computing device to the individual. The computing device enhances the information included in the digital content when the distance is within a first threshold distance from the computing device. Similarly, the computing device removes information included in the digital content when the distance is outside of a second threshold distance from the computing device.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes, by one or more computing systems, receiving, from a client system associated with a first user, a first user input from the first user, identifying one or more entities referenced by the first user input, determining a classification of the first user input based on a machine-learning classifier model, generating several candidate conversational fillers based on the classification of the first user input and the one or more identified entities, wherein each candidate conversational filler references at least one of the one or more identified entities, ranking the candidate conversational fillers based on a relevancy of the candidate conversational filler to the first user input and a decay model hysteresis, and sending instructions for presenting a top-ranked candidate conversational filler as an initial response to the first user.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media can determine that at least one image has been captured using the computing device, wherein one or more individuals are represented in the image. An identity of at least a first individual of the one or more individuals represented in the image is determined, wherein the identity of the first individual is determined, at least in part, using a social networking system. A notification is presented through a display of the computing device, wherein the notification provides an option to send a message including the captured image to the first individual.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments relate to improvements in the design of a messaging inbox. The inbox may display different units or “modules” for providing a user with quick access to different inbox functionalities. Content may be ranked and ordered within a module, and modules may be ranked and ordered with respect to each other. Inter-module ranking may be based on elements such as individual activity and the activity of the messaging service's user base, the value of the module to the messaging service, and offline models. Intra-module ranking may be defined by individual modules (e.g., based on recency, importance to user, affinity, etc.). Intra-module ranking may affect inter-module ranking, such as when individual content in a low-rated module is particularly exciting or pertinent (causing the entire module to receive a higher inter-module ranking).
