A process for preparing double metal cyanide catalysts, comprising combining an aqueous solution of a metal salt of the formula M1m(X)n, with an aqueous solution of a cyanometallic acid of the formula HaM2(CN)b(A)c, where one or both aqueous solutions may comprises at least one water-miscible organic ligand selected from the group consisting of alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, ethers, polyethers, esters, ureas, amides, nitrites or sulfides, if desired, combining the aqueous suspension thus obtained with at least one water-miscible organic ligand selected from the above-mentioned group, which ligand may be identical to or different from any previously added ligand, and separating the resulting two-metal cyanide complex from the suspension.

The present invention relates to a radiation-curable binder obtainable by reacting A) amine-formaldehyde condensates with a molar ratio of formaldehyde to amino groups of 1:6 to 2:1 with B) a mixture of butanediol monoacrylate and 2-hydroxethyl methacrylate in a ratio of 0.1:100 to 100:0.1, using 0.1 to 1.5 hydroxy equivalents of component B) per methylol equivalent of component A). The present invention further relates to a curable coating composition which comprises the binder of the invention and to a coated article produced using the coating composition.

The present invention relates to a radiation-curable coating composition comprising at least one aliphatic urethane (meth)acrylate which has two ethylenically unsaturated double bonds per molecule and contains at least one polytetrahydrofurandiol in built-in form and at least one monoethylenically unsaturated reactive diluent. The invention further provides a process for producing a coated substrate using such a radiation-curable coating composition and to the coated substrates obtained by this process.

In the preparation of a rubber-modified molding material, in a first stage, a first mixture (A) contains at least one alkyl acrylate or methacrylate (a) of the formula (I) ##STR1## where R.sup.1 is hydrogen or methyl and R.sup.2 is alkyl of 1 to 32 carbon atoms, if required a first monomer (b) having two or more double bonds and, if required, also a second monomer (c) or a plurality thereof is polymerized, preferably with free radicals, to give a rubber (B), in a second stage, a third monomer (d) or a plurality thereof is added to the resulting rubber (B) to form a second mixture (C), whereby the rubber (B) is dissolved or swollen in the third monomer (d), with or with the addition of a solvent, and in a third stage, the second mixture (C) formed is polymerized with free radicals to give the rubber-modified molding material (D), and the mixture is reacted at >120.degree. C., during or after this polymerization, with a compound (e) which contains at least two peroxy groups.
