摘要： A process for the preparation of an unsaturated diester having the formula ##STR1## wherein R is alkyl having 1 to 8 carbon atoms or aralkyl having 6 carbon atoms in the ring and from 1 to 4 carbon atoms in the alkyl moiety, and R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are the same or different and are each hydrogen, halogen, alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or aryl having 6 carbon atoms in the ring, by reacting carbon monoxide and oxygen with a diolefin having the formula ##STR2## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are as aforesaid, in the presence of a catalytic amount of a platinum group metal compound, a copper or iron oxidant salt compound, a soluble vanadium salt and a stoichiometric amount of a dehydrating agent. Optionally, an anhydrous-halogen containing acid may be included.Alternatively, a ligand or coordination complex compound of the metal salt compound, and catalytic quantities of an alcohol may be employed.

摘要： Microemulsion cleaner compositions are disclosed. The cleaners comprise a terpene, a secondary or tertiary C.sub.4 -C.sub.5 alcohol, a surfactant, and water. Compared with commercial formulations, cleaners of the invention are low in water, high in hydrocarbon, and have excellent degreasing capability. The secondary or tertiary C.sub.4 -C.sub.5 alcohol coupling solvent, compared with other alcohols, significantly reduces the amount of surfactant required to produce a stable, effective microemulsion cleaner. The compositions are particularly valuable as metal degreasers.

摘要： A selective process for the preparation of diphenylmethane bis(dialkylureas) is disclosed. An alkyl phenylcarbamate or an N,N-dialkyl-N'-phenylurea is reacted with a methylene bis(alkyl carbamate) in the presence of an acid catalyst. The use of a staged addition of phenylcarbamate or phenylurea to the methylene bis(carbamate) and the use of a ramped temperature program are the keys to good selectivity to MDI dimer products.

摘要： Alkoxylated ether sulfate anionic surfactants of this invention are prepared by conventional procedures, e.g., oxyalkylation with propylene oxide or 1,2-butylene oxide of a straight chain plasticizer range alcohol; optionally followed by oxyalkylation with ethylene oxide or with a mixture of ethylene oxide and higher alkylene oxide; sulfation of the alkoxylated product; and neutralization of the sulfated derivative. The alkoxylated ether sulfate anionic surfactants of the present invention are liquids which exhibit superior detergency to polyester fabrics, excellent hard water stability, organic solubility, low foaming, low odor, and exhibit excellent compatibility with non-ionic and other surfactants in detergent formulations.
