摘要： A transformer or inductor is made by wrapping a magnetic core material about a toroid-like structure made up of one or more electrical windings. A ferroresonant transformer may be constructed by including a slotted washer between primary and secondary windings. By shorting one of the windings, the ferroresonant transformer can be made into a gapped inductor with the gap totally enclosed within the core.

摘要： A device for isolating an electrical instrument from an input voltage signal at a floating potential. The device includes a transformer with a center-tapped primary winding, a center-tapped secondary winding and a core magnetically coupling the primary and secondary windings. The input voltage signal is applied to an input terminal coupled to the center tap of the primary winding. A modulator circuit is connected to the primary winding for alternately applying the input voltage signal to opposite sections of the primary winding by means of photo FETs or the like for alternately switching the modulator circuit at a suitable modulating frequency. A demodulator circuit is connected to the secondary winding for alternately connecting each end of the secondary winding to a common return point to demodulate the output signal from the center tap of the secondary winding by means of FETs or the like. A control circuit at ground potential operates both the photo FETs of the modulator circuit and the FETs of the demodulator circuit.

The transformer includes a core, a primary coil on the core adapted to be connected to a source of alternating current, and two pairs of secondary windings located at axially opposite ends of the primary winding. Each of the secondary windings is coupled to the primary through a steel shunt located between the primary winding and the respective secondary winding. Each of the two secondary windings has a resonant winding associated therewith and connected to a ferrocapacitor to produce an inductive coupling. Each of the secondary windings has a pair of output terminals, each of which is connected to a separate load, with the effect that the loads are electrically and magnetically isolated from each other.

摘要： A parallel inverter circuit for converting DC voltage to a variable AC voltage. One terminal of the DC source is connected to an inductor and, in turn, through a pair of gate-controlled, main rectifiers (SCR's), to the opposite ends of a transformer primary winding. A center tap of the primary winding is connected to the other terminal of the DC source. A commutating capacitance is connected across the transformer primary winding and a means is provided for alternately gating the rectifiers. The level of the voltage wave generated across the primary winding of the transformer is varied by means of two gate-controlled, auxiliary rectifiers (SCR's) connected in parallel across the primary winding in reverse directions, and by a pair of additional windings coupled to the inductor referred to above and including one such winding in series with one of the auxiliary rectifiers and another winding in series with the other auxiliary rectifier. The auxiliary rectifiers are gated so that one initially opens a circuit path bypassing the previously gated main rectifier as that rectifier is commutated. After commutation, the other auxiliary rectifier conducts current to continue shorting across the primary winding of the transformer to produce a zero voltage interval. A phase-adjustable gating means is provided for the auxiliary rectifiers.
