摘要: A water quality management system for managing the water quality in a water supply network having water pipe lines running from the purification plant to consumers' faucets to maintain the water quality at the consumers at the terminals of the network at an appropriate level. The water quality monitors for measuring the quality of water in the pipe lines are installed in the small-pipe water distribution network branching from the water distribution main pipe network and running toward the consumers. The water distribution facility for improving the water quality is installed at the base point of the small-pipe water distribution network. The water quality in the small-pipe water distribution network is managed based on the signals from the water quality monitors.

摘要: An autonomous distributed field bus system includes a host apparatus disposed in a control room, a plurality of detection and control blocks disposed in a field, and a bus line for connecting the host apparatus to the plurality of blocks. Each of the plurality of control blocks includes a detection device, an arithmetic and control device and an operating device, and forms a control loop. The arithmetic and control device produces a control signals by using control parameters stored therein on the basis of the measured value detected by the detection device. The operating device is operated by the control signal. Control operation is thus performed in each of the blocks without participation of the host apparatus.

摘要: An electrically heated hair curling iron includes a sheet-shaped heater with electrodes affixed to an electrically resistive layer, wrapped around an elongated cylindrical support, and capable of being rapidly heated and maintained hot by electric current available from a rechargeable storage battery. The resistive layer has a positive temperature coefficient of resistance so that its temperature is self limiting. The storage battery is contained in a handle attached to the cylindrical support, and a battery charger is disclosed which comes into electrical contact with the battery when the handle is inserted in a cavity located in the battery charger. An elongated longitudinal clip is used to retain the hair in contact with the heater; a removable cap protects the heater and clip when the iron is not in use, and also engages a switch which ensures that the iron does not remain on. The charger and the curling iron are each provided with an LED to indicate operation of the charger and state of charge of the battery, respectively.

摘要: An electrode in sheet form includes a current collector and an electrode mixture layer carried on each side thereof. The electrode is bent in the longitudinal direction thereof, to cause a large number of cracks in at least the electrode mixture layer to be positioned on the inner side of the current collector when wound, such that the cracks extend from the surface of the electrode mixture layer to the current collector in the direction intersecting with the longitudinal direction of the electrode. This bending process includes the steps of: bending the electrode at a curvature that is smaller than that of the winding core at least once; and thereafter bending the electrode at a curvature that is equal to or larger than that of the winding core. For example, this process is performed by arranging rollers such that their diameters decrease gradually and pressing the electrode against these rollers. This invention provides an electrode that does not break when wound to form an electrode assembly.
