    Abstract: Provided is a floating ring type mechanical seal in which a floating ring is pinched and held between a rotary ring provided in a rotary shaft and a stationary ring provided in a seal casing to be movable in an axial direction while being urged toward the rotary ring so that a relative rotation of the floating ring with respect to the stationary ring is inhibited. The rotary ring is made of a sintered compact of SiC or cemented carbide. A diamond film is formed on a sealing surface sliding on the floating ring in the rotary ring. A diamond film continuous to the diamond film of the sealing surface is formed on an outer peripheral surface of the rotary ring and a rear surface, which is a surface opposite to the sealing surface, in the rotary ring.

    Abstract: Provided is a liquid sensor that can more accurately detect the state of a liquid. The liquid sensor includes a light emitting element, an optical waveguide, a light receiving element, and a detection circuit. The light receiving element is configured to receive light that was emitted by the light emitting element and passed through the optical waveguide. The detection circuit is configured to detect output of the light receiving element. The optical waveguide includes a first pillar portion that extends straight and a second pillar portion that extends straight. The second pillar portion is provided at a position opposing the first pillar portion. A space for liquid is formed between the first pillar portion and the second pillar portion. The first pillar portion includes a first end surface that faces the light emitting element, and a second end surface that is tilted relative to the first end surface and reflects light toward the second pillar portion. The second pillar portion includes a third end surface that faces the light receiving element, and a fourth end surface that is tilted relative to the third end surface and is configured to reflect light from the second end surface toward the light receiving element.

    Abstract: A mechanical seal which defines an annular space formed between a case body and a shaft body is included. The mechanical seal includes: a first sealing ring having a first seal surface; a second sealing ring having a second seal surface which slidably contacts with the first seal surface; and a plurality of coil springs provided along the first sealing ring in a circumferential direction and configured to apply axial forces to the first sealing ring to press the first seal surface against the second seal surface. The plurality of coil springs are divided into a plurality of groups, and first regions in each of which occurring distortion is increased by the axial forces of the coil springs that belong to the group and second regions in each of which distortion is smaller than that in each first region are present alternately along the circumferential direction in the first sealing ring.
