Abstract: A holder system for a drum includes a body, holding structure within the body defining an adjustable opening, a fastener threadedly received in the body and engageable with the holding structure, a holding rod received in the opening such as to be able to be moved linearly and to rotate with respect to the body. Clamping structure has a portion disposed within the body and is associated with the holding structure. A shaft is received by the clamping structure such that the shaft can rotate about an axis thereof and rotate with respect to the body. When the fastener moved to engage the holding structure, the opening reduces in size and thus causes the holding structure to prevent any movement of the holding rod and, substantially simultaneously, a portion of the holding structure engages a part of the clamping structure causing the clamping structure to prevent any movement of the shaft.

Abstract: A strainer is provided for a snare drum having a bottom drumhead. The strainer includes a snare assembly including a snare carrier and a plurality of snares coupled therewith. A throw-side component includes a bracket member releasably mounted to the snare drum and a slide member moveable relative to the bracket member and engaging the snare carrier. The slide member includes a slider handle fixed thereto and a locking toggle such that when the strainer is coupled to the snare drum, manual movement of the slider handle causes the snares to move toward the bottom drumhead, with the locking toggle being constructed and arranged to be 1) moved to a first, locking position engaging the bracket member so as to lock the slide member to the bracket member, and 2) moved to a second, release position releasing the slide member from engagement with the bracket member.

The tensioning device can also include a casing having a mount configured to receive a connecting member to secure the casing to a shell of the drum. Abstract: A snare assembly tensioning and locking mechanism for holding snare wires in either a contact or non-contact position against a bottom drum head of a snare drum. The mechanism uses a lever mounted horseshoe shaped clip including surface bumps or protrusions that, when the lever is in an upward and locked position, engage a set of complementary notches on a surrounding peripheral surface of a snare wire tension adjusting knob. In alternate embodiments, the locking lever may pivot toward the drum or in a direction tangential to the drum. In this manner, the snare wires are held in tension against inadvertent loosening of the tension adjusting knob while the drum is played.
