摘要： An optical pattern detecting apparatus has a ball lens (2), a light emitting device such as LED (3) and a light receptor such as photodiode (4), the latter two (3, 4) being disposed side-by-side with their optical axis substantially in parallel so that light from the light emitting device (3) passes is converged by the ball lens (2) onto barcode mark (7) and light reflected from said barcode mark (7) is guided by the same ball lens (2) to the light receptor (4); and by use of the ball lens, the apparatus can stably detect the barcode mark even at inclination of the apparatus to the surface of the barcode mark.

摘要： A cutting tool is fixed to a cutting tool holder in such a manner that the posture of the cutting tool can be adjusted without being removed from a processing machine. The cutting tool holder is fixed to a fixing base to allow the cutting tool holder to be fixed in the same position thereof repeatedly with high reproducibility. After the flank of the cutting edge of the cutting tool is measured by an objective interference microscope, the posture of the cutting tool with respect to the cutting tool holder is adjusted so that an interference fringe coincides with a predetermined interference fringe.

摘要： The present invention provides a cordierite ceramic containing at least either of zirconium oxide and hafnium oxide and also containing titanium oxide, wherein the molar ratio of zirconium (Zr), hafnium (Hf) and titanium (Ti) in terms of the moles in the form of the dioxides, respectively which is given by the formula [(ZrO2+HfO2)/TiO2] is in a range of 0.1 to 5; and a honeycomb structure made of the cordierite ceramic. In this cordierite ceramic, the phases of the above components are contained mainly as zirconium titanate or hafnium titanate, and there occurs no heterogeneity in appearance, caused by change in color and generation of spots or the like.
