Abstract:
A mass spectrometer capable of analyzing a wide mass range with high sensitivity and high mass accuracy. A mass spectrometer has an ionization source generating ions; an ion transfer optics transferring the ions; a first linear trap accumulating the ions and ejecting the ions in the specific mass range; a second linear trap having an end electrode disposed at the exit end ejecting the ions to change a DC potential gradient relative to a DC potential of the end electrode and trapping the ions ejected from the first linear trap to repeatedly eject them in pulse form; a time-of-flight mass spectrometer accelerating the ions ejected from the second linear trap in the orthogonal direction to detect them; and a controller changing the time duration of the ions in which the ions are ejected from the second linear trap or delay time from the completion of ejection to application of an accelerating voltage of the time-of-flight mass spectrometer according to the mass range of the ions ejected from the first linear trap to the second linear trap.

A wrist AM radio receiver is housed in a bracelet-like structure adapted to be removably wrapped about a user's wrist and includes at least a bar antenna, a circuit board with an oscillating element thereon forming a reference oscillation source, and a speaker, and the bar antenna and the circuit board are spaced apart within the bracelet-like structure in the direction in which the latter is wrapped with the speaker also disposed in the bracelet-like structure between the bar antenna and the circuit board so as to minimize the influence on the bar antenna of pulses from the reference oscillation source.
Abstract:
An apparatus comprises an elongated boring bar having a cutting edge at its front end, an assembly coupled to the boring bar for reciprocally moving the boring bar axially of a rotary kiln, and an assembly for rotating the boring bar. The boring bar is advanced into the kiln with the cutting edge retracted from the kiln wall and, upon clearing the tuyere dam of the kiln, the cutting edge is brought close to the kiln wall by rotating the boring bar. The boring bar is then advanced again to scrape off and remove solid deposits from the kiln wall.

A filter is configured for efficient combustion of particulates accumulated on a catalyst layer 7 in both a rapid combustion range and a slow combustion range. The catalyst layer 7 on an exhaust gas passage wall of a filter 1 includes a mixture of a Rh-doped Ce-containing composite oxide particle material loaded with Pt and a composite particle material loaded with Pt. In mixed particles of this mixture, Zr-containing composite oxide particles containing no Ce and activated alumina particles are mixed together and agglomerated.

A semiconductor light detection element has a plurality of channels, each of which consists of a photodiode array including a plurality of avalanche photodiodes operating in Geiger mode, quenching resistors connected in series to the respective avalanche photodiodes, and signal lines to which the quenching resistors are connected in parallel. A mounting substrate is configured so that a plurality of electrodes corresponding to the respective channels are arranged on a third principal surface side and so that a signal processing unit for processing output signals from the respective channels is arranged on a fourth principal surface side. In a semiconductor substrate, through-hole electrodes electrically connected to the signal lines are formed for the respective channels. The through-hole electrodes and the electrodes are electrically connected through bump electrodes.
Abstract:
Provided is a radio relay station which relays data transmitted and received by a radio base station a radio terminal in a radio communication system which employs the TDD scheme. The radio relay station receives data from the radio base station during a downlink subframe period and transmits data to the radio base station during an uplink subframe period. The radio relay station sets a remote side transmission period for transmitting data to the radio terminal in the uplink subframe period and sets a remote side reception period for receiving data from the radio terminal in the downlink subframe period.

Abstract:
A power management system has power supplying means, measuring means that measures power generation environment for the power supplying means, and communication means that transmits information measured by the measuring means. The power management system comprises: a control unit that controls the measuring means and the communication means. The power supplying means is used as a power source for the measuring means and the communication means. The control unit sets a first power threshold to be used for determining whether or not to switch operation states of the measuring means and a second power threshold to be used for determining whether or not to switch operation states of the communication means on the basis of a power supply that is supplied from the power supplying means.
