摘要： A method and apparatus for replacing a selected portion of the anatomy is described. In particular, a prosthesis can be provided to replace a portion of an articulating joint, such as an elbow. The apparatus can be modular for various reasons and each of the modular portions can include a different dimension to achieve a selected result. For example, the prosthesis can achieve a different size condylar replacement, a selected offset, a selected articulation, or combinations thereof.

摘要： A tool provides for coupling a first prosthetic to a second prosthetic. The tool can include a first arm having a first concave bearing surface configured to apply a force in a first direction. The tool can also include a second arm having a hook shaped member. The hook shaped member can have a second concave bearing surface configured to apply a force in a second direction opposite the first direction. The first arm and the second arm can be generally parallel, and the first arm can be translatable with respect to the second arm. The tool can include a translation force mechanism, which can apply force to the first arm and the second arm so as to cause generally parallel translation of the first arm and second arm.

摘要： An elbow prosthesis can include a capitellar implant that has an articulating head and a stem. The articulating head can have a first substantially hemispherical portion and a second portion that collectively extend between lateral and medial sides of the articulating head and are separated by a plane. The first and second portions can generally extend between the lateral and medial sides. The second portion can generally have an attachment lobe that extends on the lateral side and that defines a passage therethrough. The passage can extend at least partially on the second portion.

摘要： A prosthetic wrist having at least one of a radial insert, which is configured to be fixed to a radius of a patient, a carpal implant or a wrist bearing component. The carpal implant can include a body and a pair of flanges, each of which being skewed to the axis of the body in a manner that permits them to abut the ulnar side of the hamate bone and the radial side of the distal portion of the carpal bone complex, respectively. The radial insert may be provided with a plurality of modular portions to allow for selection and customization of an implant. Also the various portions can allow for a hemi- or total, or revision wrist arthroplasty. The modular portions can allow for intraopertative customization.

摘要： A modular prosthesis system for replacement of a head portion of a proximal radius includes a monolithic stem component, a head component, and a locking mechanism formed by the stem and head components. The stem component defines a stem anchoring portion having a longitudinal axis and configured to couple to the proximal radius, and a dovetail-shaped first mounting portion on a first end face that extends in a first direction transverse to the longitudinal axis. The head component has a dovetail-shaped second mounting portion on a second end face opposite the first end face slidably engaged with the first mounting portion along the first direction. One of the first and second mounting portions intersects the longitudinal axis. The locking mechanism is formed at an interface between the stem and head components and is engaged through relative translational movement between the stem and head components. A related method is provided.

摘要： A modular prosthesis system for replacement of a head portion of a radius. The prosthesis system includes a head component having a first connection portion that connects to a second connection portion and a collar component having the second connection portion and a third connection portion. The system also includes a stem component including a fourth connection portion that connects with the third connection portion, the stem component having a stem anchoring portion that connects to the radius. The collar component provides the modular geometry to the prosthesis without having to have an increased number of head components and stem components with variable lengths and angles.
