Abstract:
Managing customer and product information over a network using a multi-functional management tool uses a computer which is programmed for generating a customer database including customer records, wherein each customer record tracks a customer. The computer updates the customer database from information received from the customer to add or modify a specific customer record indicating customer contact and product purchase information about the customer. The computer is used for updating the product database from information received from a client to add or modify a specific product record indicating product and inventory information about the product. The information can include a troubleshooting sequence for the specific product and a specific problem. One option during at least one part of said troubleshooting sequence includes at least one part sale option as an upselling operation.
Abstract:
An apparatus for re-circulating a fluid contained within a hydrotherapeutic receptacle without the need for piping to a motor. The apparatus includes a jet housing having a portion thereof engageable with such receptacle. A nozzle device is located at one end of the housing to provide an entrance for such fluid to be suctioned into the housing and an exit for such suctioned fluid to be expelled from the housing. A control device is located adjacent the nozzle device to control fluid flow of such fluid suctioned into the housing and fluid flow of such fluid expelled from the housing. An expulsion unit is located adjacent the control device to expel such fluid from the housing back into such receptacle. A power source is connected to the expulsion unit to enable it to expel such fluid from the housing at a predetermined pressure into such receptacle at a predetermined rate.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus, and computer instructions for a communications device transferring data. A signal strength is received for a communications link used to transfer data to a destination. In response to the signal strength less than a threshold, the data is cached in the communications device to form cached data. In response to a loss and reestablishment of the communications link, the cached data is sent to the destination.
Abstract:
A method and a computer software for managing a database of a computer network are disclosed which comprises: selecting a data sample, dividing the data sample into an N×M matrix having equal cells, grouping adjacent cells into a plurality of memory blocs by a least differential sum method, constructing a decision tree based on the partitions of the memory blocs, labeling each of the memory blocs based on the decision tree; storing and retrieving data points into the memory blocs; and linking the memory blocs together by a set of resolution nets.
Abstract:
A view item page that is descriptive of a current item may be displayed in response to a request to view a description of the current item. The view item page may include a control that is operable to display recommendations of further items similar to the current item that is described in the view item page. Upon detecting that a user has operated the control included in the view item page, the recommendations of the further items may be generated based on the current item described in the view item page. Moreover, the generated recommendations may be presented to the user that operated the control.
Abstract:
In an interactive display interface, an implementation for setting up around each of the selectable items, e.g. icons, a perimeter zone or halo at a predetermined distance from the perimeter of the item or icon. Thus, when an icon with such a halo is approached by an on-screen pointer, e.g. cursor, there are means for moving an adjacent icon which is within this halo to a screen position beyond this predetermined distance, i.e halo. The moved adjacent icons are subsequently returned to their original positions after a set period of time or after the pointer or cursor has moved beyond the approached icon. One aspect of this invention is directed to an icon state wherein said adjacent icons and selectable icons overlap each other and, thus, it is difficult for the user to distinguish which icon he wishes to select. For such a situation, the invention further includes means for user selection of icons which includes means for sequentially moving all other icons away from each of the overlapping icons for said predetermined period of time to thereby expose each of the overlapping icons in combination with means for sequentially enabling the user selection of each exposed icon.
