Abstract:
An ice bank of a refrigerator is provided. The ice bank includes an ice accommodation chamber storing ice pieces made by an ice maker, and an ice pressing unit circulating the ice pieces by pressing the ice pieces for preventing sticking of the ice pieces in the ice accommodation chamber.
Abstract:
An ice supplier includes an ice maker configured to make ice, a case configured to store ice made by the ice maker, a sensing unit configured to sense a quantity of ice stored in the case, and a controller configured to control the ice maker according to a result of sensing from the sensing unit.
Abstract:
There is provided a water supply control apparatus for an ice maker and method thereof. In the apparatus and method, an ejector pushes out ice, a sensor detecting portion is formed on the ejector, and at least two sensors detect a sensor transit time for the sensor detecting portion to travel from one of the sensors to the other. Therefore, an adequate amount of water can be supplied to the ice maker to make ice with a desired size regardless of the variation in the water pressure of a water inlet line from a household water source.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a dispenser of an icemaker in a refrigerator for maximizing an inner space when a total size is the same, and for minimizing the total size when the inner space is the same. The dispenser of the icemaker in the refrigerator includes an ice chute being a passage through which the ice produced from the icemaker is discharged; and a container supporter provided at an outer case and disposed to be perpendicular to an outer surface of the outer case when the ice is discharged outside through the ice chute, the contain supporter allowing a container seated thereon to receive the ice discharged from the ice chute. The ice chute is closed and not exposed outside when the ice-discharging process is finished, and the container supporter is not exposed to the outer surface of the outer case.
Abstract:
An ice dispenser apparatus, comprising: an ice bin to receive ice cubes; a shutter mechanism located near a bottom of the ice bin to selectively dispense ice cubes or crushed ice; an ice crusher located above the shutter mechanism to crush ice cubes into crushed ice; and an ice discharge controller located adjacent to the ice crusher and having a structure to selectively provide a certain amount of ice cubes onto the shutter mechanism and to effectively minimize an undesirable accumulation of ice near the ice crusher that may cause interference during operation.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is an ice-crushing device for refrigerators that is capable of crushing ice by torque of rotary blades relative to stationary blades wherein the stationary blades are selectively operated according to selected ice mode, i.e., crushed ice mode or ice cube mode, to allow the stationary blades to have a damper function, thereby preventing stoppage of crushed ice, and therefore, eliminating a locking phenomenon, which is caused by the stoppage of crushed ice. The ice-crushing device comprises an actuating unit for rotating the stationary blades clockwise or counterclockwise about a rotary shaft when a driving force is transmitted to the actuating unit, and a driving unit for supplying the driving force to the actuating unit.
Abstract:
Disclosed are an ice bin installed in a refrigerator or the like and a refrigerating machine having the same. One auger having spiral transfer wings rotates to transfer ice cubes that are introduced between the transfer wings, which allows a constant amount of ice or an amount of ice selected by a user to be dispensed. In addition, a shutter is disposed at a lower side of the auger to define a dispensing space, which may reduce a length of a casing in a depth direction and, thereby, result in a reduced size of the ice bin.
Abstract:
A refrigerator with an icemaker (100) is disclosed, having an improved structure for supplying ice to a user of the outside through a dispenser (30) provided in a door (25), which includes a dispenser (30) provided in a door (25); an icemaker (100) for making ice by using a cool air of a freezer; a container (200) for receiving and storing the ice discharged from the icemaker; and a lifter (300) provided between the dispenser and the container, for lifting the ice stored in the container to the dispenser.
Abstract:
An ice supply device is capable of supplying cubed ice, sliced ice, and grinded ice. The ice supply device is configured to supply cubed ice, sliced ice, or grinded ice based on a speed and direction of rotation of a rotary blade included in the ice supply device.
