Abstract: A kit for joining together at least a pair of light fixture segments at a joint interface therebetween to form a light fixture assembly, comprises at least a pair of complementary coupling units, each coupling unit configured to be located in an operative position in one of said light fixture segments to join the other coupling unit at the joint interface defined by complementary abutment surfaces on said light fixture segments, at least one of the complementary coupling units being configured to be adjustably located in the operative position to displace another of the coupling units along a designated travel path toward a limit position, wherein the joining of the light fixture segments at the joint interface occurs in advance of the other coupling unit reaching the limit position.

Abstract: A lighting assembly with a single edge lit optical configuration produces various asymmetric light distributions which provide targeted control of light output with peak intensity that is non-normal to the light guide output face. The compact form factor of the lighting assembly embodiments having narrow width are particularly well-suited for use in linear lighting applications requiring suspended, surface and recessed installations typically used to illuminate walls, floors and/or ceilings. The lighting assembly can also be selectively configured and oriented during assembly and installation to achieve various lighting distributions. Optical components within the lighting assembly are typically positioned and retained in optical alignment with internal support features of a linear housing. The optical configuration typically includes LED board, light guide, and one or more reflectors, and an optically transmitting component providing further control of the lighting distributions and a broader range of design choices. A variety of asymmetrical and symmetrical light distributions can be achieved with one or more peak intensities. Further embodiments utilize selective alignment of the light guide with one or more reflectors to achieve different light distributions.

Further embodiments utilize selective alignment of light guide with reflector to achieve different asymmetric light distributions. The single edge lit lighting module incorporates a housing, LED board, light guide and reflector, and can further incorporate an optically transmitting lens over its output face and provides a fixture assembler with a range of design choices without need of additional components.

Abstract: Disclosed is a junction device for joining adjacent housing sections of a light fixture housing assembly, having a junction body structure formed from at least one junction body segment. A plurality of coupling units, each with at least one first boundary including at least one male portion or at least one female portion. The male and/or female portions are configured to enable each corresponding portion a first of the coupling units to receive the male portion of a second of the coupling units. Each of at least two of the coupling units including a first segment formed with the at least one junction body segment at respective first boundaries with the corresponding male or female portions extending therefrom. Each of the male and female portions is configured to be associated with a first locking structure to lock the female and male portions together to form the assembled light fixture housing.

Abstract: A single edge lit lighting module is disclosed which produces tailored light distributions valuable in many illumination applications. The lighting module comprises a unique light scattering optical element with volumetric light scattering properties which works in combination with configured reflective surfaces and optional surface relief features, Light distributions attainable using the invention are non-lambertian and anisotropic. Light distributions with one or more lobes of peak intensity can be produced which include, but are not limited to, symmetric and asymmetric batwing distributions, asymmetric distributions for perimeter lighting and symmetric distributions. The invention's unique single edge lit construction provide the means for achieving this without need for conventional two lit edges and within a compact form factor with narrow width, particularly well-suited for linear lighting fixtures that are suspended, surface mounted or recessed. Various embodiments also provide means for adjusting light distributions dynamically to control light output characteristics by the use of an additional cover lens or glare control films, and by controlling the input signals to the LED board included in the assembly.
