摘要： A riser hinge (10) is disclosed which includes a mounting flange assembly (12) pivotally coupled to a strap assembly (15). The strap assembly includes a camming assembly (27) having a multi-lobed cam 28 with a large lobe (38) and a small lobe (39). The lobes have a top bearing surfaces which extends to a flat dwell surface. The large lobe top dwell surface (41) is of a select size (arcuate length) which is longer than that of the small lobe top dwell surface (44). The camming assembly also includes a cam follower (56) having two cam following ridges (69). The asymmetrical configuration of the grooves creates a first, large ridge (70) and a second, small ridge (71). The bottom bearing surface (77) of the small ridge rides upon the top bearing surface of the small lobe. Similarly, the bottom bearing surface (73) of the large ridge rides upon the top bearing surface of the large lobe.

The strap includes four elongated mounting holes (42), a screw adjustment flange (43) having a threaded screw hole (44) therein. The strap also includes a moveable adjustment bracket (50) mounted for lateral movement relative to the underlying strap. The adjustment bracket also includes an adjustment screw mounting flange (52), a adjustment screw (53) extending through an adjustment bracket mounting hole (54) and threaded into screw adjustment flange screw hole. Lastly, the adjustment bracket includes four mounting holes (56) extending therethrough and generally in alignment with strap elongated mounting holes (42).

摘要： A rope-operated recoil starter particularly suitable for use with lawn mowers having the starter rope handle mounted upon the mower handle. The starter structure is the Bendix type having an engine flywheel engagable gear axially translatable upon the rope pulley. A friction brake member associated with the gear produces the gear axial translation. Lost motion means automatically operate the friction brake for producing a delay in gear translation with respect to pulley rotation preventing inadvertent gear-flywheel engagement due to mower handle movement. Additionally, a positive lockout associated with the friction brake member prevents engagement of the gear with the flywheel except during rotation of the rope pulley in an engine cranking direction. The rope pulley is provided with a rope storage ledge for accommodating the extra rope necessary to permit the rope handle to be mounted on the mower handle, and to provide extra rope for cranking, if desired.

摘要： A recoil starter for internal combustion engines utilizing a rope rotated cranking pulley wherein pulley mounted dogs engage on engine cranking cup when extended. Dog positioning is controlled by an operator, and the dogs are spring biased and shaped to function as detents to maintain the operator in the dog retracting position preventing inadvertent dog extension due to vibration. Additionally, the starter incorporates a skirt for retaining the rope within the pulley rope groove, and the configuration of the starter reduces resistance to engine cooling air flow.

Springs 33 bias the spreader plate stops 30', 31' towards a position stopping the rotors from moving to their unlatched positions. Hand levers 40, 41 are provided for manually forcing the spreader plate stops to a position allowing the rotors to move to their unlatched positions.
