Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a setting unit, a displaying unit, a receiving unit, and a printing unit. The setting unit accepts designation of source information from a user and set the accepted source information in association with an object. The displaying unit displays the object. The receiving unit receives image data from an external apparatus. The printing unit prints an image on a sheet based on the image data received by the receiving unit. Upon selection of the object displayed on the displaying unit, the printing unit prints an image on a sheet based on the image data from among the image data received by the receiving unit, that is received from an external apparatus having source information corresponding to the source information associated with the object.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an image processing apparatus comprising detecting alteration of any application held in the image processing apparatus; determining, in a case where alteration has been detected, whether or not the use of the image processing apparatus needs to be restricted based on the application in which alteration has been detected; and displaying, in a display unit and as a result of the determination, in a case where the use of the image processing apparatus needs to be restricted, a message indicating that alteration of the application has been detected, and restricting the use of the image processing apparatus, and in a case where the use of the image processing apparatus need not be restricted, display, in the display unit, a message indicating that alteration of the application has been detected.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus is provided on which an application including a first module and a second module is installed. The first module is configured to determine whether to activate the second module based at least on a time set by a user, and activate the second module based on the first module determining to activate the second module. The second module is configured to cause the image forming apparatus to perform printing. In addition, the image forming apparatus includes an activation unit configured to activate the first module without activating the second module, periodically at each elapse of a predetermined time interval. In a case where it is determined that the second module is to be activated before a time when the first module is to be activated next, the first module is configured to set a timing to activate the second module.
Abstract:
An information processing apparatus that is able to execute an extended application, and a method of controlling the information processing apparatus are provided. The information processing apparatus holds, in a launched state, a virtual machine (VM) for executing the extended application, determines, in a case that the extended application is launched, whether or not the extended application can reuse the VM. In a case that it is determined that the extended application can reuse the VM, the information processing apparatus determines whether or not a VM that can be reused by the extended application is held, and in a case that it is determined that the VM which can be reused by the extended application is held, execute the extended application using the held VM.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus notifies an authentication server of accepted authentication information of a user, obtains an authentication result, and determines whether or not information of a service that the user can access, the information included in the authentication result, can be supported by an application installed in the image forming apparatus. In addition, when it is determined as a result of the determination that a service that the user can access cannot be supported by the application, the image forming apparatus displays a message related to an update of the application on the display unit.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an image processing apparatus comprising: a memory device that stores a set of instructions; and at least one processor that executes the set of instructions to: detect alteration of an application held in the image processing apparatus; determine, upon detecting alteration, whether or not an application in which alteration has been detected is a pre-installed application; and enabling, as a result of the determination, in a case where the application in which alteration has been detected is a pre-installed application, the use of the application by installing the application using pre-held information.
Abstract:
An information processing apparatus includes a setting unit configured to set a setting of the information processing apparatus, a status display unit configured to display a message indicating a status of the information processing apparatus, and a display control unit configured to display, in a case where a setting changed by the setting unit is in an unreflected state, a message indicating that the setting is an unreflected setting on the status display unit.
Abstract:
An information processing system that manages an application executed by an image processing apparatus with an application identifier includes one or more controllers configured to provide combined information of a reproduction application that reproduces a description file for defining operation procedures and a first description file as a first combined application, provide combined information of the reproduction application and a second description file as a second combined application, manage a first description identifier corresponding to the first description file and a second description identifier corresponding to the second description file, and manage the first combined application and the second combined application in a distinguishable manner based on the first description identifier and the second description identifier.
Abstract:
A display device that allows a user to easily move an icon across tabs and freely change the order of the icon in the tab of a movement destination is provided. The display device comprising a display unit, a touch panel that is arranged so as to superimposed on the display unit, and a control unit configured to display a screen including a plurality of tabs capable of accommodating a plurality of predetermined numbers of icons on the display unit. The control unit comprises a switching unit configured to switch between a home screen for displaying icons accommodated in a first tab selected via the touch panel among the plurality of tabs and a setting screen for moving a predetermined icon accommodated in the first tab to a second tab by a drag-and-drop operation, and a display control unit configured in such a way that when the predetermined icon is dragged onto a heading part of the second tab on the setting screen, in a case that there is no space for inserting the predetermined icon in the second tab, a display indicating that a drop operation is not possible is performed on the heading part of the second tab, and in a case that there is a space for inserting the predetermined icon in the second tab, a display indicating that a drop operation is possible is performed on the heading part of the second tab.
Abstract:
An information processing system provides combined information in which a description file defining an operation procedure and a reproduction application configured to reproduce the description file are combined, as a combined application to be executed by an image processing apparatus. The information processing system includes one or more control circuits each having a processor and a memory containing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to function as an acquisition unit, an output unit, a reception unit, and a generation unit. The acquisition unit is configured to acquire definition information from the reproduction application. The output unit is configured to output screen information to a display based on the definition information. The reception unit is configured to receive an edit instruction corresponding to the screen information. The generation unit is configured to generate the description file corresponding to the reproduction application, based on the edit instruction.
