The present invention is to reduce the time required to detect an object after completion of the rotation of a head or a body of a robot. A robot 100 includes a camera 111, and a control unit 127 which determines an overlapping area between a first image captured with the camera 111 at first timing and a second image captured with the camera 111 at second timing later than the first timing to detect an object included in an area of the second image other than the determined overlapping area.

A determination result is easily obtained even in expression determination on a face image that is not a front view. A Robot includes a camera, a face detector, a face angle estimator, and an expression determiner. The camera acquires image data. The face detector detects a face of a person from the image data acquired by the camera. The face angle estimator estimates an angle of the face detected by the face detector. The expression determiner determines an expression of the face based on the angle estimated by the face angle estimator.

A subject determination apparatus includes: an image obtaining unit, first and second similarity degree determination units, an information obtaining unit, and a subject determination unit. The second similarity degree determination unit determines whether a similarity degree between a reference image and an image of a candidate region of a specific subject image in one of frame images sequentially obtained by the image obtaining unit is equal to or more than a second threshold value smaller than a first threshold value if the similarity degree is determined by the first similarity degree determination unit to be less than the first threshold value. The information obtaining unit obtains information indicating a similarity degree between the reference image and an image of a region corresponding to the candidate region in another frame image obtained a predetermined number of frames before the one frame image.

The image creating device further includes a converting unit which converts at least one of the face component image and the face contour image based on the both directions of the face and the face contour and a creating unit which creates a portrait image by using at least one of the face component image and the face contour image being converted by the converting unit.

A mobile apparatus according to the present embodiment includes a voice input unit configured to detect a signal from a user. In a case where the voice input unit detects a signal from the user and as a detection result of the signal from the user, it is determined that there is a signal from the user, the mobile apparatus performs sound source localization and specifies a location or direction in which the detected signal from the user is given. In a case where it is determined that the mobile apparatus is not able to move to the location where the signal from the user is given, a voice output unit configured to output a voice signal, a driving unit configured to move the mobile apparatus, and a light emitting unit configured to emit light performs predetermined control.
