    Abstract: A container for growing plants includes a bottom wall, a first side wall extending perpendicular to the bottom wall, and a second side wall extending perpendicular to the bottom wall and parallel to the first side wall such that the bottom wall, the first side wall, and the second side wall at least partially define a plant growing chamber. Furthermore, the container includes a lid configured to selectively occlude access to the plant growing chamber. Additionally, one of the bottom wall, the first or second side walls, or the lid includes a rail and another of the bottom wall, the first or second side walls, or the lid defines a groove such that the rail of the container is configured to be received within a groove of a first adjacent container and the groove of the container is configured to receive a rail of a second adjacent container.

    Abstract: The present invention is directed to an applicator having an agricultural product conveying system which transfers particulate material from one or more source containers to application equipment on demand, and meters the material at the application equipment. The conveying system includes an inline metering system including a number of metering devices associated with each compartment of a particulate material tank on the applicator to meter the particulate material disposed within each compartment. The individual metering devices include gates to initially enable the particulate material from a compartment to enter the metering device, and a rotary metering shaft to meter the flow of the particulate material into the conduits while limiting the passage of pressurized air through the metering device and into the compartment. The individual metering devices also include individual motors to control the operation of the metering devices independently from one another that can allow with sectional control and turning compensation.

    Abstract: A row unit of an agricultural seeding implement has a hoe opener assembly that may engage soil to form a trench in the soil and to deposit one or more agricultural products in the trench. The hoe opener assembly has a base structure having a mount and a nose removeably coupled to the base structure. The nose may form the trench in the soil. The hoe opener assembly also has a double shoot attachment removeably coupled to the mount. The double shoot attachment may separately deposit the fertilizer and the seeds into the trench. The hoe opener assembly also has a first conduit that may deliver the fertilizer to the double shoot attachment and a second conduit that may deliver the seeds to the double shoot attachment.

    Abstract: The present invention is directed to an applicator having an agricultural product mechanical and/or pneumatic conveying system which transfers particulate material from one or more source containers to application equipment on demand, and meters the material at the application equipment. The conveying system includes a static distributor interconnecting the supply lines of the conveying system with the distribution lines connected to the individual nozzles. The static distributor includes internal structures that effectively divert the incoming particulate material evenly across the interior of the static distributor such that the particulate material is evenly distributed into each of the distribution lines. The static distributor accomplishes this without the need for any moving parts or control systems/devices. In addition, damage done to the particulate material flowing through the distributor is not high, and the operation of the distributor creates a lower pressure drop across the distributor than prior art vertical distributors.

The auger is configured to move particulate material across the particulate material storage compartment via rotation of the auger about a first rotational axis. The distribution and leveling system also includes an agitator positioned below the auger. The agitator is configured to agitate the particulate material via rotation of the agitator about a second rotational axis. In addition, the first rotational axis is substantially parallel to the second rotational axis, rotation of the auger and rotation of the agitator are independently controllable, and the first rotational axis and the second rotational axis are substantially aligned with one another along a longitudinal axis of the particulate material storage compartment.

The flow splitter may also include at least two baffle plates positioned within the splitter body so as to divide an internal flow chamber of the splitter body into a plurality of downstream flow channels. The mechanical conveying system employs longitudinal mechanical distributors that operate to move and mix the particulate material from one of the source containers or tanks along the mechanical distributor to a plenum. At the plenum the different types of particulate materials are further blended, such as within a particle injector, and delivered to the distribution nozzles for discharge from the applicator.
