    摘要: A thromboembolic removal system for treating ischemic stroke includes an elongate member and a receiver on a distal portion of the elongate member. The receiver includes structural members arranged to form a sleeve having a central lumen. A plurality of the structural members form engaging elements having apex regions that extend into the central lumen. During use of the thromboembolic removal system, the receiver is advanced over a body of thromboembolic material within a blood vessel, causing the body to be received into the central lumen, and causing the engaging elements to engage the body within the lumen.

    摘要: A thromboembolic removal system for treating ischemic stroke includes an aspiration catheter and an elongate member having a separator on a distal portion of the elongate member. During use of the thromboembolic removal system, the aspiration catheter and elongate member are positioned in a blood vessel, with the elongate member extending through the lumen of the aspiration catheter. Vacuum is applied through the aspiration catheter and the separator is deployed distal to the aspiration catheter into contact with thromboembolic material within a blood vessel. Manipulation of the separator during aspiration can facilitate aspiration by loosening, separating, or softening pieces of thromboembolic material, by removing any clogs or flow restrictions within the lumen of the aspiration catheter, and/or by pushing or plunging loosened material towards and/or into the distal end of the aspiration catheter for subsequent aspiration out of the body.

    摘要: A method of handling an endoprosthesis includes providing an endoprosthesis having a deposited metal film with a thickness of about 50 microns or less and reducing the diameter of the endoprosthesis by sequentially collapsing different portions of the prosthesis. The collapsed endoprosthesis can be positioned with a lumen of an endoprosthesis delivery device. Different portions of the endoprosthesis can be sequentially and radially collapsed. For example, the endoprosthesis can be disposed within a hollow form of varying diameter.
