Abstract:
A new and improved low power GPS signal receiver system includes a GPS signal receiver device and control processor for powering up the signal receiver device for a first sufficient period of time to locate and acquire a time signal from a single GPS satellite and then powering down the GPS signal receiver device after establishing a local time and for waiting another sufficient period of time after receiving a user request to update time before powering up the signal receiver device to facilitate about an immediate sync on another GPS navigation message subframe indicative of the time maintained by said single GPS satellite vehicle. Once the second sufficient period of time has elapsed, the control processor powers up the GPS signal receiver device for a third sufficient period of time to acquire and process 29 bits of subframe message information indicative of time maintained by the GPS satellite vehicle. Once the time maintained by such a single GPS satellite vehicle has been obtained and processed, the control processor powers downs the GPS signal receiver device to a low power standby mode to wait for another user request to update time.
Abstract:
A snap-in type fastener for securing an object to an apertured support includes a shank member having predetermined diameter and length. A locking member integral with one end of the shank member is provided to extend through the support aperture to facilitate engaging of the apertured support by the shank whereby the locking member resists withdrawal of the fastener from the apertured support. A head member is disposed at the other end of the shank member and includes a resilient member which provides for axial deflection of the shank for a selected distance in the direction of the apertured support to facilitate engaging of apertured supports of different thicknesses. The resilient member may form all or a portion of the head member depending upon the method of securing or may be associated with the head member.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a tubular cutting element for axial reciprocal movement within an outer tubular sleeve. The cutting element has an elongate tubular body, having a proximal end, a distal end and a cutting tip. The tubular body is formed in a drawing operation and the cutting tip is formed in a milling operation. The tubular body may have a Rockwell C hardness of no more than about 40, and the cutting tip may have a Rockwell C hardness of at least about 50.
Abstract:
An improved capacitor is described. The capacitor has an anode with an anode lead wire extending from a first face of the anode. A dielectric layer is on the anode and a cathode is on the dielectric. An anode lead with an anode base and a cavernous anode protrusion extending from the base is provided wherein the anode lead wire is in electrical contact with the anode protrusion. A cathode lead with a cathode base is provided wherein the cathode base is in electrical contact with the cathode on a side face wherein the side face is adjacent the first face and the cathode base and said anode base are coplanar.
Abstract:
An improved solid electrolytic capacitor and method of forming a solid electrolytic capacitor is described. The method includes forming an anode comprising a valve metal or conductive oxide of a valve metal wherein an anode lead extension protrudes from the anode. A dielectric is formed on the anode and a cathode layer is formed on the dielectric. The anode, dielectric, and cathode layer are encased in a non-conducting material and the anode lead extension is exposed outside of the encasement at a side surface. A conductive metal layer is adhered to the anode lead extension which allows termination preferably by electrically connecting a preformed solid metal terminal, most preferably an L shaped terminal, to the conductive metal layer at the side surface.
Abstract:
The capacitor has a monolithic anode and at least one anode lead wire extending from the anode. At least one sacrificial lead wire extends from the anode. A dielectric layer is on said anode and a cathode layer is on the dielectric layer. The anode lead wire is in electrical contact with the anode and a cathode lead is in electrical contact with the cathode.
Abstract:
In general, a mobile unit for communicating with other mobile units assigned to a group within a Multipoint Voice Network (“MVN”) having a plurality of groups is shown. The mobile unit may include transmitter, receiver, and controller. The transmitter is enabled to transmit a set of multiple carrier frequencies, where the transmitter is configured to transmit on one frequency chosen from a sub-set of multiple carrier frequencies from the set of multiple carrier frequencies. The sub-set of multiple carrier frequencies corresponds to the group to which the mobile unit is assigned. The receiver is configured to receive and demodulate the sub-set of multiple carrier frequencies and the controller configures the receiver to receive and demodulate the sub-set of multiple carrier frequencies that is assigned to the group.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a tissue removal device. The device includes an outer tubular body, an inner tubular body and a cutting edge on the inner tubular body. The outer tubular body includes a window, which may be opened or closed by moving the cutting edge. The cutting edge has a hardness that exceeds the hardness of the material of the inner tube. The cutting edge may have a Rockwell C hardness of at least about 50, while the inner tube has a Rockwell C hardness of no more than about 40. The cutting edge may be formed by a milling step, and the inner tube may be formed by a drawing step. Tissue severed by the cutting edge may be removed at a rate of at least about 1.8 grams per minute through the inner tube, and the outer tubular body may have an outside diameter of no more than about 3.5 mm.
Abstract:
A collapsible electro-acoustic transducer system (“CETS”) is described. The CETS system may include a base housing with at least one electro-acoustic transducer, where the base housing includes a base housing top and a base housing bottom, and a movable housing having at least one electro-acoustic transducer, where the movable housing is movably attached to the base housing. The CETS may also include an attaching element movably attaching the movable housing to the base housing, where the movable housing is configured to collapse within the base housing.
Abstract:
A system, method, and computer program product are provided for content metadata and authorization exchange between content providers and service providers. In use, content metadata from each of a plurality of content providers is stored in a central repository for use in identifying to each of a plurality of service providers content of the content providers that is accessible to the service provider. Furthermore, communications between the content providers and the service providers associated with authorizations for content access are proxied via a central proxy.
