Abstract:
A network storage system includes a virtual file system (“VFS”) that manages the files of the network storage system, and a storage center that stores the files. The VFS and the storage center are separated, such that a client accesses the VFS to conduct file system operations and the client accesses the storage center to upload/download files. The client accesses the network storage system through one or more storage ports. The storage center includes a plurality of distributed object storage managers (DOSMs) and a storage cluster that includes a plurality of intelligent storage nodes. The network storage system includes additional storage centers at geographically disparate locations. The network storage system uses a multi-cast protocol to maintain file information at the DOSMs regarding files stored in the intelligent storage nodes, including files stored in disparate storage centers.
Abstract:
Methods for defining engineering requirements in an electronic environment are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method includes providing at least one of a set of master requirements and a set of version requirements to be applied to the electronic product definition, and referencing an electronic reference document from at least one of the set of master requirements and the set of version requirements, the electronic reference document including one or more particular engineering requirements to be applied to the electronic product definition. Alternately, a method includes defining a callout linked to the at least one of the set of master requirements and the set of version requirements, the callout being adapted to supercede a conflicting engineering requirement set forth in at least one of the set of master requirements and the set of version requirements.
Abstract:
A system for directing light from a luminaire. The system for directing light from a luminaire, according to the present invention, includes a source of light. A first reflecting device is installed in the luminaire for reflecting light from the source of light and directing substantially indirect lighting from the luminaire. The first reflecting device is formed with an opening. The opening allows unreflected light to pass through the first reflecting device to a second reflecting device mounted in the luminaire. The first reflecting device includes a window mountable in the opening for diffusing light. The first reflecting device also includes a lens. The second reflecting device is a multiple surface reflector assembly for directing a combination of direct lighting and luminous lighting from the luminaire through and along a fascia that is engageable with the luminaire.
Abstract:
An overhead lighted exit sign and mounting includes a substantially rectangular box shaped sign housing with an electric light therein. A substantially cylindrically shaped two part hollow hinge is mounted on the top wall of the housing with one part fixed to the housing. The second part of the hinge is secured to a plate adapted to be secured to an overhead electrical box. Apertures are formed in the top wall of the housing, the two parts of the hinge and the plate to allow electrical wires to pass from the electrical box to the electric light within the sign without being exposed. The hinge allows the sign to pivot out of the way in the event that it is struck by an object being carried therebelow without the sign being broken from its support or otherwise being damaged.
Abstract:
The present disclosure extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for determining, by a social neighborhood server, a social neighborhood of a user. In operation, user information is received that is related to social network connections to other users within the user's social network. Using this information, information is presented to the user related to social network connections attributable to the user based on the received user information, which may include user network connections of the user. Then, the user is invited to assign information related to user influence that the user attributes to individual social network connections presented to the user. In other implementations, social network entities, whether they be for example users or commercial interests, may be presented to a user that are not within the user's social network. The information related to the user influence is then received, and an influence metric is assigned to the individual social network connections according to the user's input.
Abstract:
The present disclosure extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for establishing an attribute template for a customer for distribution to recipients. In operation, customer information is received and placed as attributes in a template that is then made available to predetermined recipients.
Abstract:
A method of determining cluster attractors for a plurality of documents comprising at least one term. The method comprises calculating, in respect of each term, a probability distribution indicative of the frequency of occurrence of the, or each, other term that co-occurs with said term in at least one of said documents. Then, the entropy of the respective probability distribution is calculated. Finally, at least one of said probability distributions is selected as a cluster attractor depending on the respective entropy value. The method facilitates very small clusters to be formed enabling more focused retrieval during a document search.
Abstract:
An aquatic treadmill having a housing having a container configured to retain a liquid and sized to contain a horse within the container, a treadmill positioned along a lower portion of the container such that a horse upon entry into the container would stand upon the treadmill, and wherein the container has a decreasing cross sectional area.
Abstract:
A fishing reel comprises a bobbin and a bracket. The bobbin comprises first and second ends and an elongate body extending between the first and second ends. The bobbin has a pair of protrusions at each end and a gathering region between each pair of protrusions. The bobbin is configured to wrappingly receive fishing line about the body and between each pair of protrusions. The bracket comprises at least one support member configured to support the bobbin relative a fishing rod. The bracket has a pair of flanges configured to be received by hoods on the fishing rod. The bracket is rigidly attached to the bobbin.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an apparatus for disintegrating bales of agricultural material such as hay. The apparatus has a chassis, a processing tub with a discharge opening located in one of its side walls, a disintegrator mounted in the processing tub to disintegrate baled crop material positioned within the tub and discharge the processed bale material out the discharge opening and a manipulator mounted within the processing tub adapted to manipulate the baled crop material to expose different parts thereof to the disintegrator. The processing tub is adapted to be mounted on the chassis such that the discharge opening can be positioned on either the left or right side of the chassis. In an embodiment of the invention, the processing tub is sized to accommodated a large square bale lengthwise therein or two or more round bales. The apparatus is also provided with an adjustable fork lift to raise bales of different configurations into the processing tube and a hydraulic selector valve such that two sets of hydraulic systems on the processor can be operated by a single hydraulic line from a tractor or other power source.
