    Abstract: Provided are a selection device and a selection method for enabling an operator to efficiently select an amplifier capable of driving a motor having a desired performance, said selection being made from the perspective of the number of amplifiers installed, the price, or the installation space. This selection device for selecting an amplifier and a motor is provided with: a storage unit for storing the motor performance for each of a plurality of motors and, for each of a plurality of amplifiers, the number of control shafts and/or the price and/or the installation space of the amplifier, as well as the performance of the motors that can be driven; an input unit for enabling an operator to input selection information; a motor selection unit for selecting a motor satisfying a condition; an amplifier selection unit for selecting one or more amplifiers for driving the required number of motors satisfying the condition, said selection being made so as to minimize the total number installed, the total price, or the total installation space; and a display unit for displaying the selected motor and the selected amplifiers.

    Abstract: A servo amplifier selection device includes a memory configured to store specifications of each of a plurality of amplifiers capable of supplying power to a motor; and a processor configured to select, based on the number of one or more designated motors, specifications of each of the one or more designated motors, and specifications of each of the plurality of amplifiers, a combination of amplifiers connected to the one or more designated motors from the plurality of amplifiers in such a way that each of the one or more designated motors is connected to any of the plurality of amplifiers; and select, for each amplifier included in the combination of the amplifiers, specifications of a power cable that connects between the amplifier and a power source in such a way as to satisfy a supply of power needed for the motor connected to the amplifier.

    Abstract: A machine state monitoring device is a machine state monitoring device that is intended for a motor drive device of a machine tool. The motor drive device includes: a motor; a converter and an inverter that adjust a power supply voltage; a power failure detection unit that acquires an input voltage of the motor drive device so as to detect a power failure in the motor drive device; and a communication unit that transmits, based on the result of the detection of the detection unit, a time when the power failure is started, and a time when the power failure is completed. The machine state monitoring device includes: a communication unit that receives information of the time when the power failure is started and the time when the power failure is completed from the communication unit of the motor drive device; and a storage unit that stores the information.

    Abstract: A motor drive of an embodiment of the present invention includes a PWM converter for converting AC power inputted from a low voltage AC power source into DC power by PWM control, an inverter for converting the received DC power to AC power to drive a motor, and a capacitor connected between the PWM converter and the inverter. The PWM converter is operated so as to limit input and output currents or input and output power to predetermined values, and supplied from the low voltage AC power source with a lower voltage than a voltage required to drive the motor. The PWM converter boosts a DC link voltage being an output voltage to the voltage able to drive the motor, and thereby serves to increase the potential difference of the capacitor between charged and discharged states to reduce the capacitance of the capacitor.
