Abstract: A seat assembly for a motor vehicle is provided. The seat assembly includes a seat back portion and a removable and stowable head restraint. The seat back portion has a first surface and is configured to occupy one of an upright seating position and a folded cargo position. The head restraint is configured to be coupled to the first surface of the seat back portion. The head restraint is configured to occupy one of a deployed position and a stowed position. The head restraint remains secured to the seat back portion in each of the deployed position and the stowed position. Specifically, the head restraint occupies the stowed position when the seat back portion occupies the folded cargo position.
