Abstract: Methods, systems, and media for modifying the presentation of video content on a user device based on a consumption mode of the user device are provided. In some embodiments, a computer-implemented method comprises: receiving, from a user device, a request to present a video content item, wherein the video content item includes an audio portion; identifying a segment of the audio portion as including a particular type of audio content (e.g., silent content, music content, speech content, theatrical content, non-musical content, etc.); determining a consumption mode associated with the user device; generating a modified video content item based on the consumption mode associated with the user device by removing a portion of the video content item that corresponds to the segment of the audio portion identified as including the particular type of audio content; and causing the modified video content item to be presented on the user device.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and media for determining and presenting information related to embedded sound recordings are provided. In some embodiments, the method comprises: identifying, at a video sharing service, a first video content item that includes an embedded sound recording; identifying a composition associated with the embedded sound recording, wherein the embedded sound recording is a particular version of the composition; identifying one or more artists associated with the composition based on a group of metadata associated with the composition, wherein each item of metadata is provided by a content owner that has provided a sound recording associated with the composition to the video sharing service; identifying a second video content item associated with the embedder sound recording based at least in part on the identified one or more artists; receiving, from a user device, a request to present the first video content item on the user device; and, in response to receiving the request, causing the user device to present a user interface for presenting the first video content item in a first portion of the user interface and information related to the embedded sound recording in a second portion of the user interface, wherein the information related to the embedded sound recording includes indications of the one or more artists and a link to the second video content item.

Abstract: A first audio content item may be provided to a user in a first area of a graphical user interface (GUI). Second audio content items may be provided in a second area of the GUI. A selection of a control element provided in the GUI may be received where the selection of the control element indicates that the user is interested in an audio component that is included in the first audio content item. In response to receiving the selection of the control element, different versions of the audio component that are included in third audio content items may be identified and the second area of the GUI may be modified to prioritize a presentation of at least one of the third audio content items that includes a respective different version of the audio component over a presentation of the second audio content items in the second area of the GUI.
