摘要: A receiver architecture for processing spread spectrum signals. The receiver has an RF front end to receive and down convert a broadcast signal to an intermediate frequency carrier. The IF signal is digitized and provided to a processor (which may be a software-driven DSP, an ASIC or other embodiment) for processing. A given IF carrier is removed and the signal is low pass filtered. The signal is provided to a number of channels, each, for example, correspond to a unique transmitter. On each channel the sample rate is reduced to a predetermined fixed rate with timing mismatch compensated. The Doppler frequency shift, as estimated for the channel, is removed succeedingly. A locally generated copy of the spreading code used by the transmitter is applied to the carrier and Doppler removed signal at the predetermined fixed sample rate. The de-spread signal is used to provide estimates of the Doppler shift and for subsequent sample selection. Pseudo-range and delta pseudo-range estimates from each channel are used to estimate, for example, the receiver's position.

摘要: In one aspect, a multiplier for performing multiplication of a first operand and a second operand is provided. The multiplier comprises a matrix having a plurality of matrix elements arranged in a plurality of columns, a first plurality of storage elements to store at least a portion of the first operand, the first plurality of storage elements connected diagonally to the matrix, and a second plurality of storage elements to store at least a portion of the second operand, the second plurality of storage elements connected vertically to the matrix. In another aspect, a multiplier for computing at least a partial product of a first operand having a first length and a second operand having a second length is provided. The multiplier comprises a first register to store at least a portion of the first operand, a second register to store at least a portion of the second operand, and a logic matrix formed from a plurality of matrix elements that together perform a multiplication operation, the logic matrix connected to the first register and the second register such that each matrix element receives at least one bit from the first register and at least one bit from the second register, wherein a number of the plurality of matrix elements does not exceed a product of the first length and the second length.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for processing a spread spectrum baseband signal, such as a CDMA baseband signal, are provided. The method includes despreading samples of the baseband signals with two or more instances of a despreading code, the instances of the spreading code successively offset relative to the signal samples, to provide two or more despread results, and interpolating the two or more despread results based on an estimated finger location to provide a symbol estimate. The method provides post-despreading interpolation.

摘要: A circuit for controlling a high frequency power amplifier for amplifying a signal for wireless transmission is disclosed. The circuit provides a control signal to the power amplifier at an output port thereof. The control signal has properties of rise time and fall time, where a delayed transition in this signal is based on charging and discharging of the capacitor using two current mirror circuits in order to provide the delayed transition. An advantage lies in that the time of this delayed transition is dependent primarily upon the current mirrors and substantially other than dependent upon the RC time constant of the circuit.
