Abstract: A method for adjusting a timing advance includes: sending an uplink message to an access point, AP, and receiving a downlink message returned by the AP; according to the moment when the uplink message is sent, the moment when the downlink message returned by the AP is received and the fixed time when the downlink message is returned by the AP, obtaining time alignment information; and according to the time alignment information, adjusting the amount of time by which a signal is sent in advance.
