Abstract:
A system and methodology for performing tasks in a networked computing environment. The invention disclosed herein broadly applies to a universe of tasks which are currently or might be in the future accomplished through the use of one or more computing devices in communication with one another. According to a preferred embodiment, missions are accomplished using a networked computing environment according to a novel process. First a Mission Instance is created which defines the tasks associated with the Mission as specifically applied to the particular time that the mission is to be completed. Once the Mission Instance has been created, it is executed according to the particular Task Instances that are defined therein. Tasks may be accomplished locally or they may be accomplished remotely via communication of a task instance to a remote server.
Abstract:
A method and system facilitate online document generation and publication in true What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get fashion without requiring any programming or computer engineering skills. The online document may be a full website with any functions demanded including 3D features. They system includes a graphical user interface module configured to display on a user device display a document on a working area for display to other users over a network and to display tools for a user to manipulate the document, and further configured to receive user input via the user device display, wherein the tools displayed include one or more content objects configured to be placed in a desired location in the document on the working area, and a coordinate system module configured to track absolute positions of the content objects placed in the document on the working area, the coordinates including horizontal position, vertical position, and layer.
Abstract:
A system and process for recognizing documents by type and understanding at least a portion of the contents thereof. The process includes the steps of providing a document in electronic form, determining a set of facts, data and information about the document, providing the set of facts, data and information to a reasoning management unit, receiving formatted knowledge from a rule verification, validation and management unit, using the formatted knowledge to prepare an expert system having an inference engine, matching the facts, data and information against formatted knowledge using the inference engine and determining a set of applicable rules and executing actions of applicable rules.

Abstract:
A digitization process and system which involves the use of a novel label, labeling system and labeling methodology. According to the teachings of the present invention, the label is comprised of two parts one of which is transparent and the other of which is opaque. Bates numbers or other identifiers according to some sequential numbering or ordering scheme are placed on the opaque portion of the label. The labels are placed on document edges prior to scanning and removed after scanning. Following scanning, an interactive quality control process is carried out in order to ensure image integrity against the original document sequence and integrity. After the sequence and integrity of the images is verified, the images are cropped so as to remove the ordering information and then the document may be stored possibly for later retrieval via its unique identifier. In this way, document integrity can be assured and stored document images reflect the actual document appearance rather than as modified by a label or stamped identifier. Labels may easily be removed from the original hard copy documents so that these documents may also be returned to their original form.
