Abstract:
The lock button on a door latch is slidable in a horizontal direction between a retracted unlocking position and an extended locking position wherein it blocks a latch hook release member from unlatching the latch, prevents inadvertent locking of the door and extends alongside a strike shoulder on the associated door jamb to provide a secondary latch.
Abstract:
A trolley assembly for a pocket door system comprises a central carrier having a plurality of rollers journaled for rotation thereon. A hanger member having a bolt portion which is threadedly received by the carrier includes a laterally extending pintle. The pintle is received within an aperture of a bracket member secured to an upper edge surface of a door. A locking member is insertable into the aperture after the pintle is received therein and includes an abutment portion selectively positionable in proximity to the hanger member. When inserted into the aperture, the locking member blocks relative movement between the bracket member and hanger member thereby preventing removal of the pintle from the bracket aperture. The door height is conveniently adjusted by removal of the locking member and dissociation of the bracket member from the pintle whereupon the hanger member can be selectively threaded inwardly or outwardly of the carrier.
Abstract:
A latch for use with a gate includes a latch body having a planar mounting surface on a rearward side thereof with a pair of space apart flanges which receive a bolt in openings thereto. The bolt is positioned parallel to the surface of the gauge and is slidably and rotatably disposed within the flange openings. An enlargement on one side of the bolt will allow the bolt to pass through one of the flanges when in a predetermined angular position for removal. However an offturned end of the bolt extends rearwardly of the mounting surface, and the bolt enlargement is so oriented such that the bolt is not removable from the latch body when the body is normally attached to the gate.
Abstract:
A gap is formed in a slide fastener chain by cutting out a section of the interlocking fastening elements and the inner longitudinal edge portions of tapes supporting the fastening elements to be removed. A narrow band bordering the gap is formed by compressing and fusing thermoplastic threads in the tapes adjacent the gap.
Abstract:
A metal door frame is fabricated in the field by interfitting channel cross pieces in channel uprights and curling prepunched tongues in the uprights through openings in the cross pieces to square-up and to secure the cross pieces to the uprights.
