Abstract: According to one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate including an outer peripheral wiring which is formed along an outer periphery of an active area that displays an image, and which has a first reflective surface, a second substrate including a reflective layer which is formed by a plurality of segments that are mutually spaced apart, and which has a second reflective surface opposed to the first reflective surface, a sealant formed of a photosensitive resin material, which surrounds the active area, is formed along the outer peripheral wiring, and attaches the first substrate and the second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer held in a cell gap in an inside surrounded by the sealant.
