Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for providing a multimedia service, which support event based home network service mobility through a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag. The system for providing a multimedia service, includes a RFID tag, and a home server for performing a login authentication operation using RFID tag information provided from the RFID tag, storing service usage information of a multimedia service provided for a login user, and providing a corresponding multimedia service based on the service usage information of the multimedia service when a multimedia service is requested again.
