摘要： A suspension for disc drive comprises a base plate, a load beam attached to the base plate, and a flexure attached to the load beam. The load beam includes a rigid body portion, formed of a thick plate independent of the base plate, and a spring portion, formed of a spring member in the form of a thin sheet independent of the rigid body portion. The spring member connects the rigid body portion and the base plate. The spring member is thinner than the rigid body portion and has a lower spring constant. The spring portion is more flexible than the rigid body portion.

摘要： A disc drive suspension has a base portion including a baseplate and a plate member, a load beam, a pair of hinge members, and a flexure with conductors. The flexure passes through a gap between the hinge members and ranges over the load beam and the base portion. A thin-walled portion is formed by partial etching on that region of a front end portion of the plate member of the base portion which faces the flexure. A thin-walled portion is also formed by partial etching on that region of a rear end portion of the load beam which faces the flexure.

摘要： A method of manufacturing a laminated electronic part includes fabricating first and second laminated sheets by laminating an insulating function layer made of an unsintered ceramic material and a conductor layer, having a plurality of conductors two-dimensionally arranged in a vertical direction and in a horizontal direction to make up part of circuit components; cutting the first and second laminated sheets into sticks to create a plurality of first and second laminate sticks; fabricating a third laminated sheet by rotating the second laminate sticks by 90°, arranging the second laminate sticks to be each sandwiched between the first laminate sticks, and thermocompression bonding them for integration; singulating the third laminated sheet into chips and creating sintered bodies by sintering the unsintered chips to integrate the first laminate with the second laminate.

The load beam has a pin insertion hole formed between a proximal portion of the load beam and the slider and an opening formed between a distal portion of the load beam and the slider. A first locating pin is inserted into the pin insertion hole, and a second locating pin into the opening. An extending portion is formed on a distal portion of the flexure. The flexure has a first locating hole in which the first locating pin is inserted and a second locating hole in which the second locating pin is inserted. The second locating hole is formed in the extending portion.

摘要： A recording method whereby an inorganic resist made of an incomplete oxide of a transition metal is formed as a film onto a substrate and a latent image corresponding to pits is formed onto the inorganic resist by exposure. The exposure is performed by a laser beam whose intensity has been modulated by a pulse signal whose pulse height decreases in a rear portion in a length direction of the pit, thereby forming a format of a track pitch smaller than a recording beam diameter (track pitch/exposure beam diameter=0.333 to 0.833).

摘要： A load/unload-type head suspension is capable of suppressing frictional coefficient variations. The head suspension has a head and a tab that is slid and guided along a ramp block in a read/write apparatus, to move the head away from a hard disk to a retract position. The tab is provided with microscopic irregularities to suppress frictional coefficient variations when the tab is guided along the ramp block. A center line average roughness (Ra) of the microscopic irregularities is set to be in the range of 2 μm and 0.6 μm.

摘要： A printer controller for use with a thermal printer. A thermal printer used as a computer terminal printer requires a high printing speed and high print-quality in addition to reducing the load on the computer terminal. The printer controller of the present invention integrates the complicated control functions of the electrical components of a thermal printer, (i.e. thermal-head, motor, and various sensors) into an integrated circuit or a one-chip IC. Printers incorporating this controller attain highly improved and simplified operability and miniaturized dimensions. The printer controller includes a host-interface to receive communication data transmitted from a system including a host-computer, a receiver controller for receiving the output of the host-interface inputted through a data-bus and for controlling the communication data to be supplied to the thermal-head, a head driving data controller which controls the driving data to be supplied to the thermal-head which is controlled according to the temperature and the supply voltage, a motor controller for controlling the paper-feeding motor, a total controller for controlling all of the controllers including the receiver and controller, head driving data controller, and the motor controller through respective dedicated control lines, a memory for storing at least one of the controller procedures, and a printer interface for outputting various signals necessary to drive various devices mounted in the printer.
