The authentication server includes a storage part for storing affiliation information specifying at least one group that each user belongs to, an authentication part for transferring and receiving data to and from the data management apparatus to perform user authentication, and a group identification part for identifying one or more groups that an authenticated user belongs to based on the affiliation information to send information about the one or more groups to the data management apparatus. An access permission part of the data management apparatus permits an authenticated user belonging to a plurality of groups to access a data file to which any of the plurality of groups has been granted access.

摘要： Image distortion is corrected in a color printer wherein print units for a plurality of colors are aligned to form a color image by superposing images formed by the print units. A quantity of image distortion is detected, and correction data of main scan address and subscan address are calculated and stored according to the detected image distortion for each main scan address. When input color image data are corrected, printing position is corrected in combination of address change with density interpolation. When the correction data exceeds the maximum correction range, the correction data are replaced by the maximum in the correction range for distortion correction. Further, in the image data correction, after the image data are converted to data having a smaller number of gradation levels, the data are delayed according to the serial arrangement of the print units. Then, the delayed data are converted again for printing.

摘要： Image distortion is corrected in a color printer wherein print units for a plurality of colors are aligned to form a color image by superposing images formed by the print units. A quantity of image distortion is detected, and correction data of main scan address and subscan address are calculated and stored according to the detected image distortion for each main scan address. When input color image data are corrected, printing position is corrected in combination of address change with density interpolation. When the correction data exceeds the maximum correction range, the correction data are replaced by the maximum in the correction range to utilize the capability of the distortion correction of the printer. Further, in the image data correction, after the image data are converted to data having a smaller number of gradation levels, the data are delayed according to the serial arrangement of the print units. Then, the delayed data are converted again for printing.

The component part can be provided with an identifiable code, for example, stored in a RAM that can be checked with predetermined identification codes in a computer system in the image forming apparatus. Verification of the authenticity of the replaceable component part can govern the operation of the copying apparatus. The component part, for example, can be provided with a manufacturer code and a confidential identity code. This manufacturer code can be compared with the stored manufacturer code, and a determination can be made as to whether the product is authentic and the remaining useful life of the product. If the product is not authentic, the copying apparatus can be disabled. Also, if the product has been rebuilt or has come to the end of its useful life, the copying apparatus can be disabled.

摘要： An image scanning device includes a first scanner scanning a top side of a transported document at a first scanning position to obtain a first scanned image, a second scanner scanning the back side of the transported document at a second scanning position to obtain a second scanned image, a document feeder transporting a document at the second scanning position at a speed differing from the transportation speed at the first scanning position, and a controller controlling the image scanning device. The controller sets, as a scanning form of a document, either one-side scanning of scanning one side of a document through one transportation, or dual-side scanning of scanning both sides of a document through one transportation. The controller also obtains a set magnification. The controller determines the transportation speed by the document feeder such that, when one-side scanning is set, the scanning magnification in a first direction corresponding to the document transportation direction at the first scanned image attains the set magnification, and when dual-side scanning is set, the scanning magnification in the first direction at the second scanned image attains the set magnification.
