    Abstract: The present invention relates to a device and a method for performing authentication in a wireless power transmission system. Disclosed in the present specification is an authentication method in a wireless power transmission system, comprising the steps of: receiving, from a target device, a first packet including indication information related to whether the target device supports an authentication function; transmitting an authentication request message to the target device if the target device supports the authentication function; receiving, from the target device, an authentication response message including a certificate for wireless charging in response to the authentication request message; and confirming the authentication of the target device on the basis of the authentication response message.

    Abstract: An apparatus and a method for performing handover between heterogeneous communication methods. A wireless power transmission apparatus and reception apparatus can indicate whether to support out-band communication thereof on the basis of an out-band flag. The wireless power transmission apparatus can request the wireless power reception apparatus to start a handover by using a bit pattern requesting the handover. The handover procedure to out-band may be performed in a negotiation phase or may be performed in a separate handover phase. Information for establishing an out-band communication connection can be transmitted from the wireless power reception apparatus to the wireless power transmission apparatus through in-band communication. Also, even after the handover to the out-band is completed, it is possible to periodically or intermittently perform the in-band communication in a power transmission phase to detect a swap of the wireless power reception apparatus.

    Abstract: Disclosed in the present application is a wireless power receiver comprising: a power pickup unit configured to receive, in a power transfer phase, wireless power generated by magnetic coupling from a wireless power transmitter; and a communications/control unit configured to transfer, in a negotiation phase, a first end-of-power-transfer (EPT) packet to the wireless power transmitter for detecting an RFID/NFC card, and to detect the RFID/NFC card during a re-ping time secured on the basis of the first EPT packet, wherein the first EPT packet instructs requesting the removal of a power signal for a predetermined time. As the process for detecting communication cards, such as RFID or NFC, between the wireless power transmitter and receiver is clearly defined, such RFID/NFC cards can be protected against getting destroyed by the wireless power, and a stable wireless power transfer can be achieved.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a wireless power transmission system and, more particularly, to an apparatus and a method for performing handover between heterogeneous communication methods.
