Abstract: An electric compressor is disclosed. An electric compressor includes an oil separating member to effectively separate oil mixed in a compressed refrigerant. The oil separating member includes a compression guide part and an exhaust guide part. The oil mixed in the compressed refrigerant is separated by colliding with the compression guide part and the exhaust guide part. The compression guide part and the exhaust guide part form a refrigerant exhaust passage. The exhaust passage may have a diversified shape, such as a zigzag shape or a maze shape. The oil mixed in the compressed refrigerant is separated by its own weight while flowing through the exhaust passage. Accordingly, oil separation efficiency of the electric compressor can be improved.

Abstract: An oil separating apparatus and an electric compressor are disclosed. The oil separating apparatus includes a plurality of protrusions provided in a cylinder. A mixed fluid of a refrigerant and oil flowing into the cylinder may collide with the plurality of protrusions as well as an inner wall of the cylinder. A collision probability of the mixed fluid of the refrigerant and the oil with an internal structure of the cylinder and the number of collisions are increased, thereby enhancing efficiency of separating the refrigerant and the oil.

Abstract: An electric compressor includes a first scroll, a second scroll engaged with the first scroll and configured to form a compression chamber between portions of the second scroll and the first scroll during orbiting motion of the second scroll relative to the first scroll, and a frame fixed on an opposite side of the second scroll from the first scroll. A back-pressure space is formed between the frame and the second scroll, and pressure in the back-pressure space pushes the second scroll toward the first scroll. A back-pressure passage connects the compression chamber and the back-pressure space, and a valve member is disposed in the back-pressure passage and selectively blocks movement of a fluid from the back-pressure space to the compression chamber.
