Abstract: The present invention relates to an air conditioner, the air conditioner according to the embodiment of the present invention may include; a case forming the exterior; a panel having an air inlet and disposed at one side of the case; an electric dust collector for collecting foreign substances introduced through the air inlet; and a high voltage applying device electrically connected to the electric dust collector, wherein the electric dust collector includes: a discharge electrode extending toward the air inlet and charging particles contained in air introduced through the air inlet; and an electrode holder supporting the discharge electrode so that an angle formed between an extension direction of the discharge electrode and a flow direction of air introduced through the air inlet can be changed. Accordingly, there is an advantage in that the distribution of the ion field can be adjusted by adjusting the angle between the discharge electrode and the flow direction.

Abstract: An air conditioner includes a suction panel including a suction grille that defines a suction port configured to receive air, an heat exchanger and a fan that are positioned within the case, and an ion generator disposed in the suction panel and configured to generate ions in the air received through the suction port. The suction panel defines an installation groove recessed from an upper surface of the suction panel and configured to receive the ion generator therein.
