摘要： A communication system with multiple clusters connected through gateways is provided. The first cluster has a controlled device, for which an abstract representation (AR) is provided as interface on a controlling device. To facilitate an application device in the second cluster interacting with the AR the system has a near proxy in the first cluster and a far proxy in the second cluster. The application device can interact with the AR via the far proxy, which communicates with the near proxy, which in turn interacts with the AR. Results are sent back to the application device in a similar fashion. An application device on a third cluster can interact with the AR via a further far proxy, which communicates with a further near proxy which in turn communicates with the far proxy.
