    摘要： An azo dyestuff of the formula ##STR1## in which u and v=H or SO.sub.3 H and u.noteq.v,R=H, unsubstituted C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl substituted by OH, halogen, SO.sub.3 H or OSO.sub.3 H,m=0 or 1 and ##STR2## in which R.sub.1 =H, unsubstituted C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl substituted by OH, OSO.sub.3 H, SO.sub.3 H or COOH. Such dye is particularly suitable for producing on cotton red dyeings and prints having excellent fiber-dyestuff bond stability, stability to oxidizing agents and wash-off properties.

    摘要： Process for the preparation of 1-aminobenzene-2-sulphonic acids of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.dbd.H or a substituent andn=1-4,and their salts, in particular their alkali metal salts, by oxidation of compounds of the formula ##STR2## wherein R.sub.1 .dbd.H, a cation, in particular an alkali metal cation, or a radical of the formula ##STR3## characterized in that the oxidation is carried out in a weakly acidic to alkaline pH range. The process can also be carried out as a one-pot process, using the corresponding benzothiazoles as starting materials.
