    摘要: An information display device having a large display screen which enables a user to operate an object displayed at a position distant from a user operation position is provided. The information display device has the display screen with a touch sensor, and enables a remote control of the display screen through a touch operation on the small screen area which is set to display a demagnified version of an image displayed on the display screen, by shifting a touch operation position in the small screen area to a position on the display screen. Hence an operation on the display screen and that on the small screen can be executed as the operations corresponding with each other.

    摘要: The image reading device is provided with a plurality of image reading portions, a storage portion, and an image processing portion. The image reading portions are provided with a plurality of light receiving elements that are each lined up in the main scanning direction perpendicular to the original transport direction, and read an image on an original that is being transported on an original transport path, in positions that mutually differ in the original transport direction. The storage portion stores, as temporary image data, each of a plurality of image data sets relating to the image on the original, obtained through the plurality of image reading portions. The image processing portion compares the plurality of temporary image data sets for each pixel, and creates image data relating to the image on the original based on a result of the comparison.

    摘要: A CPU (information processing unit) outputs file specification of data and an erasing instruction of data to an HDD controller (storage control apparatus, storage control unit). The HDD controller specifies a cluster into which overwriting data corresponding to a file should be written, and generates the overwriting data, and outputs specification of a cluster, the overwriting data, an overwriting instruction, and an instruction for invalidating entry information and FAT information (correspondence information) to an HDD (storage unit, storage means). The HDD writes the overwriting data into the specified cluster to erase the data, and invalidates the entry information and the FAT information. Accordingly, a burden on a process required for erasing stored data can be reduced.

    摘要: The object is to enable a user to efficiently set a function for an image processing apparatus using a display medium he carries. When a user operates his mobile phone to activate a function setting information input program, an input screen for setting a function is displayed. When the user inputs function setting information, the mobile phone performs a code conversion for the function setting information to create a code image, and displays it on a display section. The user holds up the code image displayed on the mobile phone to a reading section of an image processing apparatus. The reading section reads the code image. The image processing apparatus performs authentication of the user, and then, it extracts the function setting information from the code image and sets a function. The image processing apparatus performs image processing in accordance with the function.

    摘要: The place where a user performs personal authentication includes a room into which entry is authenticated, and an apparatus for use of which authentication input (login and logout) is performed. In such situation, it will take at least a moving time for a user to perform authentication input at a certain location and thereafter to perform authentication input at another apparatus of a different location. Therefore, the present invention provides an authentication-capable apparatus whereby the authentication input by the aforementioned user (the same user) at a different place is inhibited within the aforementioned moving time, thereby preventing “spoofing” by an unauthorized user.
