摘要: An electronic pen (10) has a force sensor (16) whose electrical resistance varies in accordance with the amount of force applied to the pen stem (14) of the pen. The force sensor (16) is a modular unit with an electrode and a closure, which are mutually arranged in an essentially electrically insulated initial position. The closure, which conveniently is cantilevered on the electrode, is adapted to receive axial forces from the pen stem (14) and thereby to be urged to an activated position in electrical contact with the electrode. The closure is also arranged, on relaxation of the axial forces, to automatically spring from the activated position back to the initial position. A control device is used in a method for controlling the pen based on an analog measuring signal from the force sensor (16) by a processor (22) comparing the analog measuring signal with a fixed reference signal and, based on the comparison, selectively initiating conversion of the analog measuring signal into a sequence of digital force values.

摘要: A device operates on output signals from a light sensor arrangement in a touch-sensing apparatus to determine a position of an object on a touch surface. The apparatus includes a light transmissive panel that defines the touch surface and an opposite surface. A light source arrangement provides sheets of light inside the panel, wherein each sheet comprises light that propagates by internal reflection between the touch surface and the opposite surface from one or more incoupling points to a set of outcoupling points. The light sensor arrangement generates the output signals, which represent light reaching the outcoupling points. The apparatus is configured such that an object touching the touch surface locally attenuates at least two sheets of light. To determine the position, the device identifies, in the output signals, a set of signal profiles originating from said object. The device determines at least part of an attenuated light path across the panel based on each signal profile, and identifies the position of the object on the touch surface based on the thus-determined attenuated light paths. In determining the attenuated light path, the device applies a predetermined width function which is representative of a dependence of signal profile width on distance to the incoupling point due to light scattering caused by at least one of the touch surface and the opposite surface.

摘要: A combined position and information code, which could be applied on a base, comprises a position code, which comprises a plurality of coding marks and which codes a plurality of positions. Each position in the position code is coded by a predetermined number of coding marks. Groups of coding marks are defined in the position code. The number of coding marks in each group is larger than the predetermined number of coding marks. At least some of the coding marks in each group are used for coding an information item. When decoding the combined code, part areas of the combined code are imaged. A position is decoded from each imaged part area, whereas the information item has to be decoded from at least two part areas.

摘要: A method, computer readable medium and device are provided for freeing memory in a device with limited memory, in which a plurality of pen strokes have been recorded, in electronic form in the memory in association with a page address of one of a plurality of logical pages and a recording time. The method, computer readable medium and device provide for identifying page address for the plurality of pen strokes recorded in the device; identifying the recording time of the most recently recorded pen stroke associated with each of the identified page addresses; selecting the page address among the identified page addresses which has the oldest most recently recorded pen stroke; and deleting all the pen strokes associated with the selected page address.

摘要: The invention relates to a method of editing data generated by handwriting. The method comprises the steps of detecting an initiation of an editing; identifying a marking stroke which marks data that is to be edited; determining an essentially minimal convex envelope which surrounds the marking stroke; identifying the remaining data, in addition to the data of the actual marking stroke, which is positioned within the convex envelope; and performing an editing operation on said data positioned within the convex envelope. The invention also relates to a handheld device and a computer program for editing of data generated by handwriting.

摘要: According to a method for recording of electronic handwriting, a handwriting movement is digitized into a sequence of points along a writing curve that corresponds to the handwriting movement. The sequence of points is resampled by eliminating those points that are judged not to be necessary for being able to reconstruct the writing curve later with the required visual quality. A resampled representation of the writing curve is created from the points remaining—that is not eliminated—after the resampling. The resampling is carried out on successive and partially overlapping partial sequences of the points, the resampled representation of the writing curve being extended successively after resampling of a respective partial sequence.
