Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a power interrupting structure and a cover opening and closing structure. The image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body, a first cover and a second cover to open and close the apparatus body, a switch configured to be turned on/off according to an opening and closing operation of the first cover, and a safety device, operatively connected to the second cover, to selectively restrict the switch from being turned on by the first cover.
