Abstract: A method of separating two plates adhered to each other via an adhesive sheet or a curable resin layer, comprising relatively rotating the two plates using the vertical line penetrating opposing faces of the two plates as a rotation axis to produce a shear stress in the adhesive sheet or curable resin layer, wherein effective torque T represented by the following formula (1), which is obtained after a torque peak produced by the initial motion for the relative rotation of the aforementioned two plates, is not more than 0.085 (×106 N/m): effective torque T=[maximum torque(N·m)]/[area(mm2) of adhesive sheet or curable resin layer]. formula (1):
