    Abstract: A turbine for a gas turbine engine includes, among other things, a shaft rotatable about a longitudinal axis, a turbine rotor including one or more rows of turbine blades and a disk assembly coupled to the shaft. The disk assembly includes one or more disks each having an attachment region extending radially between an inner boundary and an outer boundary, the outer boundary is established by an outer periphery of the respective disk, the attachment region defines an array of slots distributed about the outer periphery, each of the slots extends radially inwardly from the outer boundary to the inner boundary, and each of the slots is dimensioned to receive a root section of a respective one of the turbine blades to mount the turbine blades to the disk assembly.

The interface includes a full-hoop vane ring around the engine axis, the full-hoop vane ring comprises a forward vane rail with a vane ring forward contact surface and a vane ring anti-rotation tab, the vane ring anti-rotation tab engaged with the anti-rotation case slot; and a multiple of BOAS segments around the engine axis, each of the multiple of BOAS segments comprise a BOAS aft engagement feature and a BOAS aft contact surface, the BOAS aft engagement feature engaged with the outer case and the anti-rotation case slot, the BOAS aft contact surface abuts the vane ring forward contact surface.

    Abstract: An airfoil includes a CMC airfoil wall that defines a platform, a root that extends radially from the platform, and an airfoil section that extends radially from the platform opposite the root. The CMC airfoil wall includes a wishbone-shaped fiber layup structure. The wishbone-shaped fiber layup structure includes first and second arms that merge into a single leg. The first and second arms are comprised of a network of fiber tows, and the single leg includes fiber tows from each of the first and second arms that are interwoven in the single leg. The single leg forms a portion of the root, and the first and second arms extend in opposite directions from the single leg and form a portion of the platform.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a weaving method including placing a first section of a fill fiber between warp fibers, forming a pick, moving a base to reposition the warp fibers, and placing a second section of the fill fiber between the warp fibers to form a woven structure, wherein at least a portion of the warp fibers are introduced to the woven structure using a weave control grid. Also disclosed is a weaving assembly including a base, a base positional controller, a weave control grid, warp fiber arms, a warp fiber arm positional controller and a fill fiber wand.
