    摘要: A resilient, flexible video push cable is coiled in a stack of coils inside an annular portion of a non-rotating cable storage drum. A video camera head is electro-mechanically connected to a distal end of the push cable. A display is connected to a system interconnect cable which is in turn connected to a proximal end of the push cable. While the drum is held stationary, the push cable can be unwound from its main annular portion and the camera head pushed down a length of pipe. This unwinding of the push cable is facilitated by routing it through a centrally located frusto-conical guide portion of the drum. The video camera head can be pulled out of the pipe, and the push cable can be manually re-inserted through the guide portion to facilitate re-forming of the stack of coils within the main annular portion of the drum.

    摘要: A self-tuning resonator for use in a transmitter apparatus for inducing alternating currents in a buried conductor. The resonator is dynamically tuned at frequencies below 500 kHz by exploiting the inherent voltage-variability of net capacitance in multilayer ceramic capacitors. The transmitter apparatus provides improved efficiency and induced output power suitable for use in a man-portable locator system, providing a very high magnetic field output from a physically small battery-powered resonator at frequencies under 500 kHz. The resonator exhibits a very low equivalent series resistance (ESR) and is adaptively returned to a predetermined resonant frequency responsive to any changes in resonance arising from phenomena such as component heating, thereby supporting very high tank circuit currents from battery-powered source to produce very high magnetic flux output.

    摘要: A thru-hull fitting assembly is connected to the forward end of a hollow lamp housing for mounting to a hole in the hull of a vessel in a water-tight fashion. An HID or other lamp is mounted in the lamp housing and is surrounded by a reflector which may have an outer elliptical section and an inner parabolic section. A protective transparent window extends across the forward end of the lamp housing and is sealed thereto. The window may be made of sapphire to provide improved heat dissipation and to resist scratching during hull cleaning and breakage due to thermal shock and wave slap. A circuit may be connected to the lamp to provide over-heat protection, leak detection, as well as fault and power status indicators. Alternate embodiments utilize a solid light pipe or a hollow reflective tube to convey light from the lamp to the protective window.

    摘要: An optical tachometer sensor for providing output relating to rotational speed of an object. The sensor illuminates a reflective mark on the object with modulated light and focuses that light via a receiving lens arrangement onto a photoelectric sensor which provides signals to conditioning circuitry for controlling output. Lenses in the sensor also form a Galilean telescope or a terrestrial telescope to allow a user to boresight the sensor by viewing the reflective marker through the sensor. A beam splitter or "hot mirror" reverses the optical path of modulated rays generated by the device for forcusing on the photoelectric sensor, while allowing visible light to pass and be aligned by a divergent ocular lens. In the terrestrial telescope embodiment, a convergent inverting lens and ocular lens provide the image for the user and the photoelectric sensor may be located at the focal point of the objective lens or the inverting lens.
